Possibly a repost, but scotty the prince of poker nguyen announced before the series that basically if he doesn't win 4 million dollars this summer hes going to retire from poker. Lol at this target for ANYONE, and i think hes at like 20k won or something so unless he wins the main event lol i think his missed his target.
the question is...will scotty be missed?

After watching him in horse event last year I lost alot of respect for him. I know we didin see everything that before he started acting like a tool but.....

hes definetly got a jekyl/hyde thing going...i know he does alot for his fans and stuff, but ive heard/seen multiple times where he gets bligerently drunk and is rude to players and dealers so i dont know...
the only thing is that characters good or bad like scotty are good for the game and keep poker in the public eye -
If he actually did quit (sandler laid pretty solid percentages above) I would be upset. He's incredibly entertaining and a super fun player to watch for people who love the game and casual fans alike. My vegas trip was made when I approached the 50k horse rail at the Rio and first thing I see is Scotty w/ a Michelob in hand. Yeah babyyyyyyyyyyyy!

He was at my table in event 46, limit omaha 8/b and he was a character. He was trying to get him to prop bet him a hundred bucks that he could throw his wad of cash, must have been like 6-10k into the garbage can from like 15 yards away. He was pleasant at the table and made the table lively so I went from indifferent to liking him after playing with him. He was aggressive raising preflop at least 50% of the time but would back down to anyone playing back at him strong post-flop. He didn't last long in that event but I don't think his heart was in it as he said several times he was ready to either chip up big time or go home. With that being said, I doubt he'll quit poker. I don't think guy's like that can quit. He seemed to enjoy flashing his money around so if he did quit I'd think he'd need to have a way to continue to make bank. Maybe he could do that as a pseudo-clebrity, who knows.

I do not know him personally, but after hearing personal stories from more than one dealer, I could live without hearing about him anymore.

He was probably drunk when he said it, or is looking for publicity. He has signed with some sportbook site and has already stated that he plans on representing the site at a bunch of live tourneys in the next year. He said this after his statment about leaving poker if he doesnt make 4 mil.
