  1. Tournaments re-starting at Cake Poker

    Dear Cake Players -
As you're aware, Cake's tournaments have been down the last few days due to network connectivity issues. We have put new hardware and software in place which we believe will make our services more reliable, and we're starting a soft re-launch of our tournament schedule.
    • Sit-and-gos (SNGs) will begin almost immediately, and may be running by the time you read this.
    • We will start to launch MTTs at approximately 3:00 AM Eastern Time, Friday September 11th.
    • By 3:00 PM Friday, September 11th, virtually our entire MTT schedule should be back to normal.
    • The "1st and Ten" freeroll will run as scheduled on Sunday, September 13th, and we will run one on Sunday, October 4th to make up for the one we missed.
Of course, it's impossible to completely test the new network infrastructure until we start using it fully. Over the next few days, you may see a glitch here or there. We understand that this is frustrating, and we'll do everything to minimize those glitches. Furthermore, if you're affected by something going wrong during this re-start period, our customer service people will take good care of you - that's a promise from all of us.

Finally, once we're through the re-start period and are relatively sure we're past the glitches and bumps in the road, we are going to launch a wide array of promotions and giveaways. It's our way of saying we're sorry for the trouble, and to thank you for your patience and loyalty. We know that you, the customers, are the key to our success. Once we've gotten this behind us, we'll show you just how much we appreciate you folks sticking with us.

Many thanks for your understanding and patience.

    Best regards,
    Lee Jones

    Cake Poker Cardroom Manager

Why? Lee, you guys are setting yourselves apart with your good customer service and your stand against HUDs and their ilk. Being different is not necessarily bad.

However, it seems to take me forever to earn FPPs and my deposit bonus playing tournaments, compared to other sites. Why is that?

Thanks for fixing the problem, looking forward to the nightly guarantees again :)

  8. Just please make your table sizing smaller.

lol, because people who play more than one site (the VAST majority of tournament players) have trouble tiling screens if one site is stupid enough to have a much bigger table than everyone else.

having tables that can't go smaller is not a point of difference from a business persepctive, it's just stupid. i literally can't fit cake into my schedule because of the screen size.

not that i really care with their gay payout structures anyway

  10. can someone please explain to me why Cake payout structure isnt good. I dont know enough about payout structures to know what is good and what isnt. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  11. Mr Jones

can cake and the baby cake sites please make the software quit resetting (i.e. clearing my selection to auto post blinds and auto muck) every 10 minutes

I have yet to play a ring game session where this did not happen multiple times if i played more than 10 minutes

    It is incredibly annoying

    Thanks for your time

I made a post a while ago about the exact same thing.

    Very annoying.

haha I thought you meant the fact that they are 10-handed instead of 9-handed for their tournaments. You're right, the larger minimum window size is annoying.

they pay too many people and the payouts are not top heavy enough. in the 30r 20k first is like 3.5k or 4k when the standard is get 5-6k for similar prizepools and field sizes.

if you're a good player your ROI is less with a flatter payout structure

    this x1000....
  18. Finarry.

I actually like the payout structures at Cake. I have like a 60% ITM there, so downswinging is virtually non-existent. I have to agree with getting rid of the bigger tables though, they should definitely make them smaller...
  19. Keep plugging away Lee! Even Lincoln couldn't please all of the people all of the time! But I know you're listening to your customer's ongoing issues to help better the site.
  20. Hmmm the more fish that cash will cause more fish to play on that site, and if you cannot beat a fish then you are a fish. I would agree to make the highest buy in trnys have tighter structures as opposed to the lower/midlevel buy-ins.
  21. Plz fix payout structure and table size
  22. My only complaint with ur Mtts is that there is not enough of them (20r,100 fo,50 fo, 6 max tourneys)

pretty much this. Still will obviously play on there either way, but damn a 55 20k at like 4 pm, a 20r 15k at like 5:30, 55 fo w/ like 20k gtd at like 6, and a 20r/55 6max at like 8/8:15 would be hella sexy

  24. its down again. i am getting so sick of this fucking bullshit.
  25. i can watch the ring games going right now but when I try to log in it says the poker room is closed on Players Only.

    Anyone else having this problem?

Did the payout structure change when the guarantees dropped? Could have sworn the payouts were decent when it was a 25k, at least over the 20% plateau for 1st.
  28. Lee, how come whenever your site crashes I have to email support to get my money back? It's pretty ridiculous they don't do it automatically (I've waited over 24 hours before). Are you guys just hoping that players don't notice? Not only that, but there was an occassion where support short-changed me on the amount of money I was supposed to get because of my rebuys. I got it sorted out but I find Cake poker to be a joke of the industry and I will likely be withdrawing unless you begin to change things around. So far I've seen nothing from you except stupid P5's articles. Whip Cake into shape or.... YOU'RE FIRED!!!
