    w/ 12bb it's a shove for me but is the call the right play. I know it's a bad beat but was he priced in to call or just couldn't l/d the weak ace?

    He's getting almost exactly 2:1 on his money to call. He's only -cEV by a few % even if he knows for sure what you have. Against what's probably a good range for you, including small pairs, his call is good.
