Oh hi Riggsb.
-
Cake is working fine too.
I am sure it will take a while to figure out what will happen. If anything happens at all. -
From what i've read and the way i understand it.. all it does is block access to the websites by blocking their domain names in the state. Since 99.9% of us already have the programs downloaded there is no need to go back to the site. The programs connect to the pokerstars/Fulltilt/etc. server through a different IP address than the one that will be blocked in KY to block the site. Basically if you already have the program you should be fine.
This is just how i interpreted everything though so dont quote me on this. -
In Kentucky you can own fully automatic weapons and incendiaries but you can't play poker.
-
You can still play if the client is downloaded, they just seized the domains.
So you won't be able to go to pokerstars.com, but you can still play the software. -
This is correct, any site that uses a system where its client bypasses the home page (the one with the possibly forfeited domain name) will operate as normal. New players will have to go through other methods, however, to get to the homepage to download the client. How many casual players will do that is the open question.
Also, the Domain Names wont actually be forfeited until 11/17/08, the date of the next hearing. -
Come on Rico, you can't marry your cousin here... anymore.
The mandate of the verdict was that sites will have to block traffic from KY by the next hearing or have further action taken against them.
However, the interesting part is yet to come, the more legal sides of poker will not take this laying down.
