  4. Did you read it? Did you see who wrote it? What in that article is not relevant to today's 180 strategy? Go ahead write something up for us, I'd like to read it, as I'm sure the rest of the community would.
  5. Thanks for the link, the more reading the better ;)
  6. If your asking for a strategy guide on 4.50's no one can really write one that is going to help you crush them, there is no step by step guide on how to do this

The only way is with experience and knowledge if you have no idea of how to play against certain type of players, positions, stack sizes you have a long way to go.

My advice is play tight early, once antes kick in start being aggressive no need for fancy plays at all, no bluffing. Keep it simple.. but like i said you also need the basic skills, (Not saying you dont, i dont know you, just in general)

^Deeb's and some other peoples' guides basically contain your sort of advice but give that advice in more detail for each blind level etc. Some are actually quite interesting to read, but they aren't push/shove strategy guides.
  8. The $4/180s really require ABC poker. Everyone is limping hands they shouldn't be, or being overly aggressive. It's real easy to spot who is doing what, and you just need to treat them accordingly. Don't step out of line too much, and don't try to bully them around with junk hands. Just play your strong hands strong and fold your weak hands. That is enough to turn a profit in those.

ABC poker is very vague and different people interpret it differently. Tbh your explanation is sufficient for the early game.
  10. yes...I read it...years ago...not saying its bad, just saying that u need to take into account that the structure and other things might have changed..

  11. playing until antes come in for a tourney with 1500 starting stack is not a worthwhile strat. antes don't come in until 125/250. hope to double up early, and find a way to get into a lot of pots if you do. either that or just run really good from 50/100 to the end
  12. Not sure if this is still the case but back in the day the $4s were non turbo. I'd consider just playing the turbo ones. You can get more volume in that way. A lot of people who don't really play them will tell you that they are just toss ups, but you can be good at them. If you can multi table like up to 8 tables at a time, and play 8 tables continuously for hours at a time, you would be all set.

But advice for 4's. Play tight in the early stages I guess is pretty standard, but at the same time you really want to be trying to take a chance to double up. Don't be afraid to put yourself in a situation when your flipping. Cuz if you lose you can just register for another.

When the antes come in, look for a lot of good spots to re-steal shove from late position raises. (obv depends on stack, but Id say anywhere from 11-25 bbs would be good to do this.) ----having reads is relevant.

This is situational as well but when you have like 10-15 bbs, and see hands you think are good enough to raise... SHOVE! that way people aren't able to exploit you by re-stealing. If they wake up with a hand they wake up with a hand. This is a good thing to do imo because it doesnt allow people to do to you what I said you should do in the paragraph above. But still though it's situational. If you know a guy is gonna reship on you light you can just make a small 2.2x raise or something and trap him. etc. etc.

thats all I really got I guess. gl.

  13. imo if your not playing as many tables then i would loosen up at the start as you find so many bad players spewing chips and if you can get a stack or two, it sets you up well for mid game.
I wouldn't look at 180man turbo strat and try apply this or think it's similar cause i don't feel they are, playing them similar to a MTT would be better. glgl
