  1. Dear Barney Frank,

Please be a politician and attach your hard work on to this joke of a bailout plan, so poker players can at least be positive and people can spend their money on pokerstars, party poker, paradise poker, PokerRoom, Full Tilt Poker, or any other site negatively affected by having fewer US players.
  2. I agree.

I bet if P5'ers organized and set up a fund to contribute to campaigns, this would be a no brainer. Good idea though. Poker players are not good at taking action (except at the table) they do a better job of complaining though.
  3. because no one cares about poker when the country's economy is falling apart?

  4. Because attaching a pro poker bill to an economic bailout is about as dumb as it was to attach the UIGEA onto a safe ports act.
  5. bigger things on their plate

Bush made a speech the other night and used the words "long deep recession." Not sure if that also means "depression", but if you look at history the US sees two recessions and one depression every 75 years. The US has had its two recessions and maybe three if you count 2001 (eventhough 2001 didnt meet the technical term of 2 consecutive quarters of decline) and hasnt had a depression since 1929. So pretty sure poker is about the last thing on anybodys mind...

  7. the euroz have all the monies anyways.

  8. If they were smart, the Feds would make it illegal to play on any site except their own. They don't seem to have a problem with nationalizing the banks or insurance compainies, why not nationalize online poker? Why tax pokerstars' rake when you can take all the rake. Pokerstars generates about a million dollars a day in rake. I think they Feds could use another $365 million for their pet projects like buying AIG. The Feds should launch PokerAmerica.com immediately!

I think that's kinda the idea behind slipping the poker legislation into this massive bail-out bill. Like they did for the UIGEA in the Port security bill.
My sarcasm detector broke this am, I'm likely being leveled.
  10. Obviously none of you read the roll call from the vote on Franks Bill last week....NOT 1 Democrat but that braindead fool Maxine Waters voted for it...Every other vote was by a Republican. ALL the rest of the Democrats voted "Obama"...oops i mean "absent"
  11. not smart enough to do that.

Or they can let an Indian Tribe run it and take like a 80% tax.

And why don't the networks bring back your favorite TV shows?

  18. I, for one, wouldn't mind seeing Frank do this. It would serve Frist and his cronies right. Fight fire with fire!

(obviously I don't know how practical this would be)
