  1. looking for a desktop devoted to poker... wanna run 2-3 sites and PT3 simultaneously. However, I do not want to splurge on this as technology changes too dam much. made this mistake with my laptop a few years ago (spent too much and it was quickly outdated) this same laptop now cannot even run 1 site and PT3 without some kind of issue on a daily basis. this in mind, would this particular one suit my needs and ANY feedback/thoughts greatly appreciated as i am not very savvy on computers...

I hate to pollute the forum with this nonsense, but surely you guys may know better than me.
    THANKS
  2. That computer should easily run 3 poker sites plus PT3 at the same time
  3. I bet if you perform some basic maintenance on the laptop, it will run just fine. If you don't care of your computer (any computer) it will run like shit in a year or less. It doesn't take much to keep it going.

To answer your question, yes, that computer will run poker sites and PT3 just fine, but so will just about every other computer on the market today. You're not talking very much processing power to run those programs.
  4. The key is RAM. A fast hard drive will also help a lot w/ PT3 due to the large database. You could probably add some RAM to your laptop and all this software would work fine. When looking for a new computer look for something w/ 3+ gigs of RAM w/ the ability to upgrade.

Edit: Laptops are also notorious for crashing hard drives in a short amount of time, which will greatly affect how your software runs. I went through 2 hard drives in 2 years w/ my last laptop. This is due to a hard drives inability to cope w/ motion and shock, which laptops get a lot of. Could be you just need a new hard drive.

  5. Tips to rip it up with any cpu:

    Lots of ram

big hard drive that you never fill more than 50%

    Clean cooling fans and heatsinks

Any sign of a virus and I wipe the drive and start fresh. Some people dont like this one but it's bullet proof.
  6. ty all very much!
