  1. Ok, I was in a SnG on party a few minutes ago. I raised from UTG and a short short stack with not many more chips than the raise pushed. The guy next to him called and I was only given the option to call and not to reraise. I wouldve reraised this guy as you will see what he held onto after a UTG raise and a push from a short stack. Here is the HH, can someone please explain.

  2. you raised 180 chips right

he only could make it 59 on top of that

he would need 180 chips or more on top of your initial raise for you to be able to reraise
  3. Thats what I figured but I thought since there was still someone in the hand i could reraise him. Who knows, if i reraised all in he probally wouldve called, after all the Q6 was sooted. I shoudlve just limped and reraise like i planned but i figured ill just play it straight up and sure enough i get donked anyway.

  4. I'm pretty sure that the rule states that the guy would have to raise more than half of your initial bet (90 chips in this situation) in order for you to be able to reraise.
  5. when i raise and expect someone to go allin, i like to bet just less than half their chips, that way when the action gets back to me I have a chance to reraise. It is always worth thinking about the amount you should raise, and this situation in particular. The guys call was not all that bad given that it basically closed the action, him knowing that you couldn't reraise and he got to see a flop to beat your big hand with no real danger.

  6. That is a good point that i didnt think of. I didnt realize i wouldnt have a chance to reraise or I would have done what you are saying. Normally i wouldve limped in that situation and reraised and that wouldve won me the pot for sure. Oh well, lesson learned.

  7. unless the guy doesn't push, he may just call to see the flop and then push or fold. I like the raise, it makes him commit his chips then and there. he either folds or reraises. The other guy may call if he folds, then you have to decide how to play it from there.
