  1. Well lately I feel like I am stuck, I just don't feel like I am getting any better. Maybe becoming a break even player well maybe a little more than that. What I am askin for is some advice on improving on all aspects of my no limit game. For example in my home games I play the most live and online and I am always striving to get better, and in my mind I feel like I should be crushing the home game, but is that my mistake for thinking I should be crushing them. When I play in casinos it always for low stakes 1-2 no limit and for the most part I grind it out and maybe up a little or down a little and sometimes all have a good night but what I am trying to reach is more really good nights. As far as online I can't figure out if I am getting unlucky or if I am just missing bets, and I admitt that sometimes I play pots very dumb and let myself get sucked out on. But for the most part I just wanna get better....
  2. Make no mistake my friend the VAST majority of players no matter how well they play will lose..according to pokerrankings.com there are close to 300,000 tourny players at poker stars..if you are up $1500 you are ahead of over 94% of those 300,000 players. How these 6% win consistently while everyone else loses is the mystery of life..If you can grind out a profit its all you can do..hang with that and hope 1 day you get the winners run. anything more and you'll end up like me, in rehab and unable to function normally due to repeated nervous breakdowns....this game is not that hard, winning at it is an entirely different matter....
  3. You're on a 7 year cycle...give it time...
  4. I was/(am?) a losing player. I started off very TAG then went to LAG when the big LAG boom hit. I was losing terribly and looked at some hand histories from a couple MTT tournys I felt I should have gotten further in. I realized that I was trying to play LAG but was actually just playing stupid. Things like raising w/ ATs in 3rd pos. or repopping an UTG raiser w/ 88. I decided to change my game back to the original TAG where I had some success but carrying some late position things I learned from playing a version of LAG. Since then, I've had good success in $10-$24 mtts and become a much better cash game player. I'm still awful at SNGs, but am really trying to improve my bubble play the same way, by review hand histories and reading about sng strategy.
  5. Well, you're not providing any details as to...well...anything. So I don't know what to say, other than maybe cardrunners.com for cash games.

But I would like to point out that a 1/2 NL game online is MUCH harder than the typical 1/2 NL game in a casino or someone's kitchen. So if you can beat that game, you can expect to beat the .10/.25 NL game online.

  6. umm cardrunners.com !!!

  7. people totally misunderstand TAG and LAG poker.

LAG poker aint about having to raise every suited connector or repop 88 no matter how tight the intial raiser is.

people also have some crazy misconception that TAGS never bluff or repop crap its so far from the truth.

anyone who plays a simplistic game based on card values is not going to be a huge winner.

  8. in for phil ivey busting out with AQ again
  9. that's the point I was trying to make. I was taking the LAG concept and playing stupid poker out of position and overvaluing hands
  10. you should not blame LAG style for bad play.

its not like people who are good and are LAGs are not capable of making laydowns.

no criticism of you but it just seems on this board LAG poker is way misundestood my beginners.

also some people thinkg just cause you play TAG means you never play rags and you neveer bluff which is better served.

people would be better off just playing decent poker and not thinking about their style label.
