  1. Just looking for thoughts on this hand. I had a number of hands on him and also that he had popped from 1st position preflop with a 4x raise I put him on higher pair or AK-type. Granted this is very low limit but I was looking to induce a raise with a trap bet so I could 3bet shove. I also figured if he was calling then he was probably drawing, and given the amount he raised he had the right price to chase. The 3rd player folding out by the time it got back to me helped as well - if he raised or called I would have flatted or folded depending on how it played out 3handed.

A buddy of mine said he would've check-called a flop bet to see the turn card which is another option (if Opp has a flush draw and misses turn there's often a better chance they'll fold out to a solid bet on the turn card). Anyway let me know what you think.

  2. I honestly think you played this hand as good as you could have, unless you put him on 88, 55, or JJ and you can fold on the flop.

He had exactly what you thought he had and got your money in being the 65% favorite.

You can 2nd guess yourself and think maybe you can check/call and convince yourself to fold when the 4th club comes, but you don't want to give him that chance to hit, you'd rather get him all in on his draw where you are the favorite.

Anyway, don't know if that's what you were looking for, but imo you played right and just got unlucky.
  3. Fair enough thanks. Yeah I don't want to dwell on it and it's not like its a huge pot but I figured it was a good hand to look at to see if someone would play it differently and for what reasons.
