  1. Don't have the HH as I am at my office but was having a discussion with 1 of my friends and wanted opinions.....he states that I am losing Value here by nt just 5 betting but I thought @ the level I am playing that a 5 bet shove here was the best play thoughts????

    Hand:
So I have AA in the small blind @ a .10/.25 table with $25 behind it folds to the button who makes it .85 to go...I repopped him to $2.75...bb folds and button tanks and raises to $8 I now have $22.25...IMO I thought at this level the chances he has air or any concept of meta game as I have been running over the table is slim and shipping it in would scream AK and get alot of calls from lower pairs 1010 JJ QQ KK or maybe even AK as well and min raising and leaving myself 8 dollars or whatever would look super strong...his arguement is that after putting 8 dollars out there he is cerainly calling a min raise and caling any flop with 30+ dollars in the pot at that point....which is corrent...thoughts?
  2. Shove, I am assuming he started the hand with 25 or so. he is commited he will call.
  3. His calling range is 100% the same against a min-raise as it is against a shove. Get it in.
  4. 5 bet not to allin though. imo when u shove and u push out all his 4b bluffs/dominated hands and only get called by AK, JJ+. AK not likely since ur holding one and if he has KK or QQ he is shipping it in for you on a 6bet. True the pot is bloated already but AK typically will flat OOP the 4 bet instead of shipping it in imo
  5. If you 5 bet at this level you have basically turned your hand face up and how players at this level 4-bet with absolute air?

  6. Ship. At this level he has indicated that he really likes his hand and is not folding. Nor is he 4 betting with air, so you don't have to worry about chasing out some kind of preflop bluff. 4 bet air does not exist at .10/.25.
  7. so on the same token do u think "at this level" villian is folding to a 5 bet with that much in? Opposed to a shove whereas you fold equity then

*Important info missed in OP... this is a 6 max game*

Its button vs blind so dynamics are pretty close in 6 max or FR. I even like this spot more in 6 max because players are fishier or more agressive thus stacking off lighter than FR.

And to OP, Just shove...its button vs blind so he is calling your shove lighter than you think.
  9. This is a mandatory shove if you decide to raise. I don't see the benefit of min raising here. Only time that benefits is if he had a weak hand, happens to call you pre, happens to flop a top pair, and you get all the money in on the flop.

I can see an argument for flatting though. I believe this discussion should be, should I shove, or flat call, then check shove. I think at this point, his 4-bet means he will c-bet almost any flop, because he won't want to give up a near 17$ pot if it is checked to him. So if you flat, you can guarentee the money goes in the pot with a check shove.

Still, according to his raise and the SIZE OF HIS RAISE, he looks like he will call you if you shove pre. + He tank raised you, which I found means that players are luring you in, making it seem like they had a hard decision. The timing tell isn't that accurate, but I think it helps the case for shoving.

    IMO
Shove pre> Flat, check shove flop> Min raise pre
