  1. I'm trying to become a better cash game player and want to set up some kind of system for myself to move up levels. I think I want to start relatively low and set an amount to profit at each level before moving up. Im just looking for advice as to how many buy ins you guys would recommend winning before moving up or if anyone has ideas for a better way of accomplishing my goal. Keep in mind that I will be plenty rolled for whatever stakes I play. Thanks in advance for any advice
  2. haha i've been trying to become a better cash player as well...

    and the shit never fails...

i ALWAYS end up bored and am registering for MTTs by week's end

i think honestly the only way to get better at it is to play at levels where the swings will hurt you and make you want to break down and cry if you lose kno what im sayin? that way u totally focused and want it so bad taht it forces you to not spew and play like a multi table tourney shooter

Cash game grinders will prolly respond tomorrow sometime, but I wouldn't go by profit...I'd go after so many hands I think, as that really determines whether or not ur beating it. For instance, 5k hands i u could be up like 10k and after 100k hands u could be down 40k (example only)...so i'd go after like, 75-100k hands??? Not sure if this is right but gives u a good sample. But if ur multitabling it should be fairly easy. If you have the roll I'd start at 1/2 and just addmore tables if u want to stay uncreative. I, too, got bored and did stupid shit but raise, cbet, barrel again makes u the most money at these levels. Get the roll for higher then get "Durrrrrrred" on everyone lol.
  5. The system I'm using now is play 35k hands per month 6 tabling. When I have 25 buy-ins for the next level, I take a shot. I have a 5 buy-in stop loss for shot taking, that way I'm still comfortably rolled for the next level down. I take profits in the form of rakeback and bonuses and just continue building my roll so I can get to the high stakes.
People play for different reasons. If you play for the challenge of the game then you will play your best at any level. If you're playing for the money then you may only play well when the money matters.
You really can't know if your a winning player at a particular limit until you've put in 100k hands at that level. So if the object is to beat every level before you move up then put in 100k hands at each level.
