Am i ever suppose to realize someone has a set and get away from the hand?
I was looking at my pokertracker and I am in the red for one pair. -
what's Iverson's VPIP/PFR/TAF lookin like? Yeah this is a hand you can get away from, why shove all in there? He's doing the donkey min-raise strength routine which is usually a red flag.
EDIT: bleh wasn't looking at the stack size, but you should be looking for the things I mentioned anyways -
you're not folding here to a 50 bb stack, standard
-
In fact, everyone who has more than say 50k (50k is a guess) hands is in the red for one pair. The average winning hand in HOld em is 2 pair. As far as the hand goes, like everything else in poker, it depends : your read on the player, how aggro would the player be with a hand you beat? you can only beat AJ, AT, A8... would your opponent play any of those hands that way? This is a hand where you probably could've gotten away from TP2K, unless you've seen your opponent donk around with flush draws or 1 pair hands before.
So I'd say not standard. You overplayed your hand, unless you knew something about the guy. -
eh, just noticed he was a shortie, so ya probably is more standard then... still be careful of minraises.
-
To be honest he doesn't have enough money for me to get off this hand without any other information.
How was he playing? What were his stats? If he was splashing around a good bit and playing like a typical awful player with 50BBs at the table, then I would get it in here. If he was playing super tight and waiting for his spot, then I would be a little more hesistant.
I shove here probably 98%+ of the time against players at this level unless I had some very good info on them.
