i have some rio chips (casino chips) left over from wsop and the cage isnt letting me cash them. i was able to break them down into smaller chips. does anyone know how much i would be able to cash out at one time from the cage without having them run my players card, etc?

i pay my taxes douche bags. this isnt a tax issue, its an issue of having registered chips in their system.
sandler, what happened was i had a swap with my friend and he gave me rio chips for his cash. Then when i went to the cage they wouldnt let me cash them. They were telling me I had 0 record of play in the system. I played like 15+ wsop events and cashed in the ME, but apparently this wasnt in their system. They told me I could wait a few days until the casino manager is there and he could try to access something else and figure it out, but i was already running late trying to leave vegas. gonna have to fly back out once i figure out how i can do this. -

also, it is completely acceptable for me to play blackjack or use them to buy into WSOP events. just cant cash the chips

I'm thinking you know this already, but don't tell them you cashed them for your friend. If you do they could just take them and you get zip.

yea this happened to one of my roommates...he tried to cash in a 5k chip at the main cage and they said the same thing..he was however able to cash it at the cashier in the amazon room. u could just save them for next year but i understand getting money for them now could be rather important depending on situations.

As someone who works at a big casino. Ive never heard of the cage not cashing your chips.. Ive never heard of them taking your players card before you cash in. I mean we have alot of big players who play but dont use a rating card and stilll cash in Purple Orange or Grey chips.. Strange.
I dont understand it. Give them the chips and get your money. IF they refuse you go to gaming commission.. They cant deny you payment for no reason. As long as chips are real which can be detected in a second. -

nah just got home. prob come back in a few weeks to cash them. if i end up having more problems and dont feel like dealing with it ill let u know.
What if i brought my receipts for all my tournament buy ins from wsop. Basically, do i just need to play a certain amount of buy ins to cash these chips? or do i need to show that i profited the amount that i have in chips? -

i got cash for ME and bricked every other prelim. the chips i got were from a swap in another event so technically i got cash for everything that i personally cashed in.

Something just seems off about this story. I'm buffudled for a reason for the Rio to NOT allow you to cash your chips. I guess next time you head out there take your WSOP reciepts. I don't get what the big deal is, tell the cage the truth about your friend owing you money (if you haven't already) show your WSOP reciepts should=$$$. This is bizaro.

this is there rule, i was given a 5k chip from a friend and he said make sure u play events with this chip they wont cash it for u. i think it was a 5k chip won from satty play, therefore its not real cash its basically lammers. which is tourney dough
find someone thats gonna be playin 5k worth of tournies there over the next couple months and trade them for 100% dont take any deals obv -

its pretty simple. I cashed for 30k or something like that, i got all cash. So my records show that I have been paid out everything im owed. Now im going up to the cage with 5k chips. if i bought these chips at the cage, there would be record of it in the system. if i bought them at a table, there would be record of my play there. i havent played any casino games in the rio at all, and their computers have no record of WSOP stuff. i cant just tell them im cashing chips from a friend, this would instantly get denied. if i was cashing 800 it wouldnt be an issue. this is why i am asking what the maximum amount i can cash out without having to show where they came from. if they just cashed every 5k with something as simple as "im cashing these for a friend" i think there would be some security issues. but hey, in ur world my story is off.
i appreciate the responses from people not talking out of their ass
