  1. at what rate do you guys cash profits when building a bankroll? what rate when not building? i'm currently trying to build up and i cash 20% of my profits and save 10% profits for a backup bankroll.
  2. depends on what your situation is, if you are playing low levels and dont need it for your income then I dont see any reason to take any out at all until you get a nice big roll together.
  3. agreed...

A good idea would be this...

Okay I don't know what your personal skill level is, but here is the idea. The higher stakes you play.. the harder and harder it gets to be a winning player. Right? Okay so figure out what the highest stakes would be where you would be making maximum profit/hr, assuming u had an infinite bankroll or whatever (obviously u dont) and then just build your bankroll without cashing out until u get to the bankroll size required to play safely at the optimal stakes u want to earn a wage at. THEN once u get to that size of a bankroll where u will no longer make more money by playing higher stakes, since the games are too tough up that high, thus no longer need to continue to build bankroll, that is the time when u can start withdrawing. Now it is like a job.. play cash out play cash out play cashout, whilst never dropping below the bankroll size required for this optimal stakes of play... Just do that.
  4. Very good advice bfactor. I like your idea.

Personally, what I do is keep X amount of dollars in my account. Whatever I have over that amount before I go to bed on Sunday night gets cashed out. Then Monday morning I start all over again with my base amount.

It's like a weekly paycheck -- as long as you are over, and not under for the week.
  5. great advice bfactor, you always make helpful posts, however i think i should be at least doing the 10% thing. i like having a passive bankroll that i can fall back on. it is a good point to make though that i really don't need the money that i'm cashing out since i have a full time job. also i'm trying to build my bankroll so i can't withdraw all profits per week.

EDIT: this 10% thing that i do is per win [not total profit]...therefore even if i have a losing day/week or whatever, my passive bankroll is always growing [very nice for the psyche]. there are also 5% profit per month and 2.5% profit per year that i save. i've had extremely good results from doing this and the idea came from an article in cardplayer magazine by rolf slotbloom. check it out...<span>
