  1. Is it me or is cashing out your chips after u won the tournament is only thing that makes sense?

There's two equity pools. To maximize your equity in the tournament finishing part, u should hold onto as much chips as possible.

  3. yes that makes sense
  4. How about cashing out 6,600 in a spot where you had say 198,200 @ the 1k/2k level? You would be giving up 3.3bbs of a 99bb stack and would then be freerolling the tournament.
  5. 100bb's at that level and I'm not really worried about getting my buyin back. Besides you're in the money already at the level most of the time so you already got your buyin back and then some.

Yeah, true story. I'll have to try one of these out tonight and see how bad they are.
  7. seems like a terrible idea

also i just opened a lobby of a $2 one and you can only cashout until the FT

where does the rest of the money go? i guess its added to the prize pool?

edit: just read they split the money once the FT is reached based on chip stacks

my first reaction is this is a really dumb tournament idea because it just ruins the point of tournaments but idk

  9. lol what site came up with this horrible idea??

  10. hmmmmm. love to hear the first "strategy guide" on this.

ill def play them, doubt i like em tho

  11. The only thing this tournament does is draw out the fish. Total tourney time is decreased also due to players exiting early after cashing out.
  12. i like the idea of getting money for your chips when it gets to 9 and cashout period ends

  13. this is a bad idea.

its gimmicky and gives fish a reason not to play regular tourneys where a good player's edge is larger.

i have visions of fishes building large stacks by chasing and getting lucky then all of the sudden chasing, missing, losing a big chunk, and saying "fuck it ive been down this road before, time to cash this shit out before i lose it all."

it gives bad players more outs.

maybe im wrong and maybe there are some pluses im not realizing but my gut reaction is this is a bad idea.

  14. i don't agree with the previous post. Based on the tournament structure, any cashout should be +ev for the tournament side equity for the rest of the field.

One way to look at it is that this is just a different tournament format and should be adjusted as such. I'm just trying to think of a situation where it's +ev to cash out your chips.

Also on the final table bubble, it would seem like that the big stacks have more leverage since they can pick up chips.

Which means equity wise there should be more action on any bubble spots since there's more equity in chips than in just tournament finish position.
