  1. Lets discuss the pros and cons of a cashout tournament..

    $20 CashOut - Turbo - D stack

    You are down to 40...
    36 get paid.. 36th is $17.50

    You have only 3 BB's left - 9k / $30 for a cashout

    Partial cashout?

Play and get called by multiple big stacks?

    Or a Full cashout?

Many more situations and ideas... just want to see where you guys go with it?

    Ok.. how about early cashouts.........

    $100 + 9

    You tripple up at 10/20

CASHOUT your buyin knowing you should be able to build your stack again at the same blind level?

    Or..

    PLAY?

    Cashout Some?

    Wait....

Forgot about how important the final 18 are since 9th is the cashout prize pool cut off..

Made my first mistake in the $5 Cashout.. less then 18 left and i go from a 400 + k to about 200k.. Instead of about a $350 plus cashout value entering the FT..
I enter the final table for only a $180 in cashout value (not counting my other $20 cashout before the final) ... I did turn it around with a 1st place finish for a total of 1,200 : )

Really a lot to think about...

wait if you never cash out don't u lose 50% equity?
  5. In example one i think you should give up on the tournament and make a full cash-out.. This will be more +EV then trying to recoup w/3BBs and ANTE's in te game.

  6. A post i just made on CR

<span><span id="body1">The good thing about cash-out tournaments are:
    - fish play bigger, thinking they can cash out.
    - people play scared money because when the blinds ar for example 1.5K/3K w/?? Ante's.. Then you are basically playing a $5/$10 game (T$ 3K = $10). So loosing an AI at that point, is risking direct money....

With these two factors you can put so much pressure on the people. What do you care about your buy-in when the first price is so much bigger? play for first and it will pay off in the long run.

Why does everybody advice in a rebuy/add-on tournament never to skip on the most chips potentially possible? Because it is more +EV. Cashing out your chips will not be +EV/loose you money instead of getting back.

The only way I can see a cash-out to be +EV is on a bubble situation, where your stack is ~$7K and the blinds are 1K/2K and you are never going to get deep anymore unless you get a hot run. You then better cash-out your full stack and quit the tournament. You redeem your buy-in and play again tomorrow.
