LOL I think you need to address that chip on your shoulder before you focus on chips at the table.

Congrats on being at the WSOP, what's your name? I'll definitely put money on you to ship a bracelet -
If hes tight why do you give his check/raise less credit than said line?
-
Well I was obviously aggressive and betting a ton when it checked to me. I just felt that with a possible straight draw up and with the game flow that there was no chance that he checked two streets to 2 guys with a premium. I understand that since I was playin agress that it is possible to think that he could check 2 streets but these 1/2 players dont think on that level and I felt that he'd really place a bet in flop if he had anything. I think if it were a heads up hand I could maybe see him checkin to me twice but since it was a multi way pot I really didnt think this is a line a premium would take.

BOOM, name-dropping ftw!

In all seriousness though, congrats that your play worked for you. Were your plays +EV? No. So yes, it worked in your favor this time. But why are you berating everyone who is responding to your post with exactly what you were asking for (people's opinions on how they would play the hand in question)? -

I'll fly out next weekend and take you up on this bet given that you escro the 1k, clarify terms, and i can still get a flight out of sf for 100 bucks.
Edited By: nuttedup Jun 7th, 2011 at 03:05 AM -
Thats fine. There are a couple other terms. If you reload then you minus that off w/e u win. It's based on what you win overall. If I win I punch you in the face and w/e happens to your face, you're totally responsible.

Are there max buy-in rules? Any other stipulations?

LOL, just realised that you're the same guy who posted the 'Going after a girl with a boyfriend' thread. I trust that failed? I can only imagine your WSOP campaign will take a similar line... GL MATE!!!

Don't mean to get in the middle of this absurd pissing match, but if this is a legit open offer that you'll put up 1k that you'll have at least $1k more than anyone for a 10-hour session in Vegas during the time stated, I'd like to book right now. Willing to finalize terms here or via PM. Carry on.

This morphed into a thread better for the PC forum in the last bunch of posts. Guess we will let it slide though.
If anyone needs an escrow online, for US players I can hold on Cake, Lock, or Hero. If doing a cash escrow, I can't help since if I actually do make the trip to LV this year will only be for the ME. -
Gonna ignore all your tooling out itt and give my thoughts.
Dont really mind the raise pre if ur trying to play a lot of hands/build an image or w/e but hate flatting his 3b with a guy behind you. tbh i would rather 4b to like $72 and put villian in an sticky spot oop then flat the 3b. Mostly just folding tho.
As played on the turn I prob just check behind again and plan to mash like 85% of pot if its checked to me on riv with no overcard, and flatting any riv bet from villain on blanks.
As played on riv you cant really fold after you called the turn c/r. Villains line is pretty absurd but it does look a lot like AA, think he def protects with all lower pairs. Not quite sure how good your reads are but if this guy is competent you are never ahead. here. -
if he's not thinkin on the level of checkin twice to the most aggro player at the table with a strong hand, what makes you think he is payin enoguh attention to make your J5 utg meta game raise profitable?
I mean i dunno man. I quite like the the bet on the turn, and I even think under certain circumstances you can call the raise. But I just think you are bleeding money on sooo many rivers if you do. Show him you have a fold button is what I'd say. But then I am a nit.
Not tryin to have a dig, but if you wanna make play like this i suggest you move up to 2/5 or somethin, cos although you might get one or two people who kno what they're doin on a 1/2 game most peoople dont see past their cards from my experience and the only range they ever put people on is AK... -
Just post that he didn't have you beat and what a sick read you made to call with J5hh and be done with it. Anyone who doesn't see this is what it is leading up to has really missed the point of the look how awesome I am thread.
-
I think that a good option would be check calling turn and river since it gives your hand some value. As played though I don't have a problem with the line you took personally but once he 3 bets turn and puts out a big riv bet you need to give him credit if he is indeed tight and most likely incapable of double barreling with nothing....

ur not playing someone in position. u opened utg. if ur saying ur playing in position, thats like saying you KNEW the sb would raise pf. which u didnt know. so ur not playin ip, ur playing oop.

whut everyone is saying is this 'sometimes u cant fix a mistake, just throw it out and move on'. opening j5ss utg in 1/2 is a mistake that u just need to throw out and move on. -
I understand that. I was referring to flatting the 3b from the sb therefore playin in position.... If someone behind the button would have raised I woulda tossed.ugh Clearly to you opening j5ss utg is a mistake but in this case it worked out and I won a 700+ pot. People are so close minded and are so 1 tracked. I bet if I brought a whole bunch of hands from poker after dark and put myself as dwan and posted them I would get flammed. But as soon as I revealed it as dwan people would be nut swingning. / thread.

LOLOLL at even putting u and dwan in the same sentance. ur the exact type of fish who watches WSOP and sees Gus Hansen open with K7o and thinks you can do it too...

and fyi, definition of close minded is not being able to see other peoples views.... and thinking that a mistake ISNT a mistake just cuz it worked out ONE time is pretty close minded in itself.
if a baseball player drops a ball, but they end up winning the game, thats still a fuckin error. -
ya well at 1/2 I do feel I could open pretty much any 2 and out play people post flop...I think it's been pointed out that a majority of people think opening J5ss utg is a mistake, but thanks for pointing that out again...if you look through the thread u can see that only the players with somewhat decent scores are the players that at least look at the idea of openin j5ss utg. Maybe there is a correlation there?

yea they see WHY you did it, but they dont agree with u. i SEE why u opened it, cuz u wanna be a lagtard at 1/2 and it 'helps ur image'. but u dont need to keep that shit into consideration when your playing 1/2 live. Anyone can see why someone does something, but it doesnt make it right.

1/2 live is more like 25NL online. yea u had a so called 2800$ winning day on that day, but keep playing like that, and youll have a downswing of over 5K in one day. but whutever. do as u feel.
