    I've never gone on xmas but still imagine ppl are out, just wondering if its worth a trip out to play poker...

    I can tell you that playing on new years eve is the best experience ever.. I played in AC a couple years ago and made about 2K playing 1/2, which is pretty ridiculous.. they were all wasted and retarded, so it was awesome.. might be similar on Christmas, because if your in a casino on Christmas your probably gonna be wasted

    I was playing 5/10 last X-Mas at Wynn and lost over $9k in a 6 hour session.

    On NYE I lost about $10k in a similar session playing 25/50 at Bellagio despite being up prior to Midnight.

    Other than that, I killed the cash games for 2 weeks that December.

    Lesson learned: Don't play on Holidays...

    Foxwoods is less crowded during the day. It picks up a bit later on. But most people are back to work tomorrow. You get alot of Asian Players on Christmas.. Not speaking about poker cause I dont know.

    ASU I totally agree man. When Ive dealt on Christmas ( I was off today) it just blew my mind the amount of people in there. Before I got a job there the last place I would even consider going on Christmas is a casino.

    on a side note if i lived within 30 mins of a casino id be there right now because im done with my xmas festivities...

    Christmas in the casino.

    First you have the chinese (think gambooooool) and others from cultures that do not have a Christmas tradition. They are off work, what to do? Go to the casino.

    Then picture this scenario:

    The family is all at Grandmas house for Christmas. Uncle Bob is drunk, and Aunt Martha is really getting on your nerves. The day wears on. Finally, you and cousin Eddie decide to get out of the house before a fight between you and Aunt Zelda's new husband breaks out. It is Christmas, everything is closed, where to go? The Casino!!! Gather up the kids that are old enough and the wives and let's go.

    You'll notice a bump in casino traffic around 8ish due to this. And of course, you have the total degen (think losers).

    Yea sometimes family stuff gets boring but Im sorrry haha def not gathering the fam and telling them to go to the casino. You can say whatever you want but if you celebrate christmas and your later at the casino you have a problem. If aunt Martha is getting on your nerves just go downstairs or deal with it its christmas $#$#

    I went last night and the asian degens were out in force. One dude went through about 13 buyins at 1-2, I have never laughed so much at a poker table at someone's expense. This dude 4-bet me with k-4 when i was holding KK.

    All you people that slam christmas in a casino, again, most of us here that will go are done with church/family/gift exchanging activities and have a evening with no plans b/c the movies are gonna be packed as shit. There is nothing wrong with that.

    Yeah I'm obv rolled for those games and mention a couple sessions which were losing ones so I'm obviously not a good player. Impeccable logic. Why don't you ask the floor people there if JT is a good player.

    yeah, well in my opinion everyone should gather hands and set around a fire and sing kumbaya. But the question was asked what casinos are like on Christmas, and no they are not a ghost town, there are a lot of people there for just the reasons I described. Now you may not like that, and you may not agree with that, and you yourself might not go, but that is the way it is. Many things are like that in life.

    New Year's eve will be a huge casino day. Most people will get paid that day... although some will get paid on Fri the 28th if New Year's is a company holiday... I was in a detroit area poker room last year during the day on New Year's and it was packed... not sure about the night as I left about 8pm. My experience is that most holidays are actually pretty good times to be there...

    my buddy's wife works at mohegan sun and, while there is no poker there until spring, the place is swamped as of 9p.m. tonight. likely foxwoods is the same. so if you are either a degen, winding down festivities with nowhere else to go, or looking to take other people's christmas boni rather than swim through a sea of overlays online, it's prolly not a bad idea. and yes, everyone appears to be getting further and further along the spectrum of drunk. good luck. and happy holidays.
