  1. My wife started a blog and I did not notice that my firewall or anti virus service was down or was not working.

Maybe it did not matter but man this website has screwed my computer.

I ran webroot on it and my computer had 5 trojans, 3 adware services and 60 differnent spywares that attatched to my computer. If is gotten so bad that I cannot open up any programs to try to defuse the problem. I also cannot open my normal anti virus and renew my subsciption or find out why it does not work.

When you open internet explorer I get about 60 pop ups that come up right away and it freezes my computer. I also now had deleted files that I did not delete which also seems to make IE shutdown. I am at a loss. Atleast it is an old computer and I have been thinking about buying a new one and destroy this one.

I am so tired I have been trying to get this thing to work for 2 days now. Time to scrap it? Or do you have any ideas to get around all this crap and try to get it to work. I am sitting at work right now trying to get ideas.

    Any help..

    Thanks
  2. Uggh, sounds horrible.

I seriously doubt it has anything to do with blogspot. They are owned by Google now I think and I don't know anyone that has gotten any viruses from blogspot. It could be from something on someone's blogspot page, just like it could have come from any website.

My 2 cents - time to reformat your hard drive.
  3. Been blogging there forever and hadn't had anything come up.

  4. "When you open internet explorer" <---- here is your problem!
  5. No

I don't think it is actually blogspot so much.

but what she was doing was hit next blog and she keeps going until she finds one she wants to read and when she got to one that was questionable in good family taste my computer went nuts.

I am computer dumb and I cannot believe the damage that was done by whatever page she found. She had been searching that way for weeks and then all of a sudden it happened.

unreal, atleast the poker sites open...... Not actually playing or doing anything with a password just incase their is a key logger and I changed all my passwords from my work computer. Just in case... Makes me very nervous with all the hacking going on.

  6. Get mozilla firefox, immediately.

    www.download.com
  7. A person with any snap at all can run IE. No need to switch to Foxfire unless you just prefer it. A little common sense goes a long way.
  8. computerb, firefox happens to be the safer of the two applications..
  9. Computer update....

I should never try to fix it on my own.

The only thing that actually runs on my computer is UB and the funny part is there is no lag. LOL

When I open up any other program the computer goes blank for about 5 seconds and then comes back and nothing happens.

    LOL

time to buy a new one.... Luckily it is about 4 years old anyway.......
