After getting off of my sh*ty cheese job, I did the the usual. I packed one up, read through some forums, checked FB, and then decided to watch the "infamous ABC interview with Charlie Sheen." Lets face it, the guy has more energy than anyone I have ever seen (except for maybe carrot top, pre muscle) and totally thinks on another plane. Plus, he says he has "tiger blood," which may be like "alligator blood" (ref. Rounders). He also has everything you need to get over a tough losing session and avoid losses due to tilt. Some include: Two gorgeous women, awesome workout room, a great view, and awesome food. All in all, one would have to say, Charlie Sheen has what it takes to be a GREAT GRINDER! Or not, but that's like, your opinion man ;)

I went to Charlie Sheen a bit last Saturday and I found myself not being able to sleep until midday on Monday...
-
I don't understand the medias infatuation with this guy. I've barely heard of him before a few weeks ago, he is a terrible actor and his sitcom is a joke.
ban op, imo -
How have you never heard of Charlie Sheen? His sitcom is awesome and I think the rest of America agrees.
-
good point. the rest of america also likes jersey shore and reality tv.. that must be the way to gauge whether something is good or not. and lol at watching sitcoms, what a waste of time. but i digress, I just don't really understand how charlie sheen is relevant to PD

lol agree, not very relevant b/c hed be awful at poker. He can't even take care of his kids, much less "grind" tourneys all day online. I don't watch many sitcoms, but Two and a Half Men is halarious and hence why he is the highest paid tv actor which is pretty sick.

Edited By: PetiteMoose Mar 9th, 2011 at 05:41 PMWoah woah woah. 2.5 men sitcom is crap. I don't know anyone who watches. But Jersey Shore is amazing.Originally Posted by apology7

Charlie Sheen has a serious resume of kicking total ass. The crap sitcom is just selling out for money in his old crazy times. He killed it in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Major League, Young Guns, Wallstreet, Platoon.
He would have a sick live game in poker - you'd never know if that twitch is the bad stuff he's taking or if he's bluffing. -

He is absolutely, without a shadow of doubt, inequitably, point blank, 100% bipolar, sadly, just not diagnosed! It breaks my heart about all the negative shit he is receiving and how I have yet to here a single person make this statement till just now.
Edited By: Polar_Bears Mar 9th, 2011 at 06:12 PM
Absolutely not true and probably easier for someone who is bipolar to grind than a non bipolar person IMO -
America, and most of the world, has always been infatuated with rock stars... he's pretty much the latest "rockstar" or at least he's trying to be, that's what the media frenzy is all about. i think the issue at the heart of this thread is whether or not multiple chicks, drugs, and a massive bankroll would be conducive to poker success, oh yea and the fresh powder, I'm assuming OP meant to highlight that as well.

Guess you've never heard of Wallstreet :(

Check it out -
I got a kick out of this "trying to be..." This is my age kicking in, but brother Charlie has been a "rock star" for a very long time now. Most of you are too young to remember much about him but growing up in the family that he did, and when Full Metal Jacket exploded on the screens, he put himself in "Rock Star" category for life. Most of what is happening has been happening for a very long time...it's just all catching up with him "now."

I have known he has been suffering from untreated bipolar for a very long time...in fact, his whole lifestyle and the way he acts is untreated bipolar...just a shame because he really is a talented guy! I hope he can pull it together before he ends up in a hotel room alone somewhere with a bottle of scotch, a nose full of blow, and a gun in his mouth. Sadly, and mark my words right now...he will be dead within a year or two if he doesn't get treated soon. That will be the ultimate tragedy is if nobody can eventually get through to him in time! I have lost very dear friends to this disease for those exact reasons...I don't want to see it happen to anybody...not even my enemies :( -
Guess you missed the ABC interview. He's not bi-polar, hes bi-winning... He wins here and he wins there.

tho charlie sheen has become a joke and two and half men is the worst show on TV, Rick Vaughn is in my top 5 all time movie characters for sure

Polar bears, so you're saying being strung out on blow means yoiu are bi-polar? Interseting Kat
-
Edited By: Polar_Bears Mar 9th, 2011 at 09:28 PMNo I am not saying being strung out on blow makes you bipolar in the slightest. What I am saying is that he "is" bipolar period...the blow and everything else is secondary. Bipolar has a 83% chemical dependency addiction rate....with that said, majority of bipolar people are "dual diagnosed" meaning bipolar and some type of chemical addiction either drugs or alcohol. Majority of people that are bipolar are typically know to be more prone to addiction in general, and often struggle with all types of addiction.Originally Posted by katdragon

I am not saying beyond a doubt that he is bipolar and I can prove it. What I am saying though is there is very obvious signs going off all over the place, and hence all the ranting in the media lately. He is probably in a severe manic stage right now, which causes severe agitation, inflated self esteem, epic episodes, indulging in anything that makes him feel good at the moment, and absolutely impossible to get through to if it isn't done correctly. I firmly believe he needs to be hospitalized and medicated ASAP before his mania takes him down a road that he might not be able to come back from. In other words, he feels like God right now and it's going to be a nightmare for anyone to try to convince him otherwise. As long as he is manic, he will continue on these tyrants to anyone that will listen to him about why they are all wrong, he's right and knows best sort of thing.
It's impossible for people that don't have experience with it, or been around someone who suffers from the swings, to recognize it at all. That's why everyone has their opinions about "he's a nut, an asshole, an ego nut..." whatever and cast judgment. We only see it from the outside looking in and can't identify with it because why would any rational person understand his behavior through looking at it with a rational mind?!?! (rhetorical) We just assume there is a character defect there and not truly understand what is going on underneath.
It's only a matter of time before everyone in the world pulls away from him because they just won't be able to deal with it anymore. It's a nightmare to deal with on both sides of the street...from his loved ones perspective, and his own perspective, even though he can't see it himself at the moment. One of two things will happen...he will find himself alone, down and out, or as people put it, "hit bottom" and finally realize what is going on and decide to get help. Or, he will find himself alone with a rope hanging from the ceiling because he just can't sit in the pain anymore.
Either way, it's a no win situation for EVERYONE unless he is treated soon! I feel sorry for his family and kids for what they are experiencing, but I also feel sorry for him for what is happening. Even though he is in this "God" mode right now, people are going to grow tired of it soon and pull away, and there are places where too much damage is probably done with some folks around him that can't be corrected. It's absolutely amazing the way people treat bipolar people based of sheer ignorance and stupidity just because they are not educated enough or talented enough to look past their own judgments! It's probably the hardest "medical" disease in the world for people to accept, show compassion for, and even try to welcome into their own world regardless if it is personal, business, or pleasure. It's easier to just kick them out and cast them on an island and ridicule them because of their own ignorance or fears.
Everyone on the planet wants to be around a bipolar person when they are on top of their game and doing well because they are some of the most gifted people on the planet!!! They run like herds to be around you because it's almost intoxicating to be around people this gifted. However, when the BP person takes a swing to the other side, they split like Moses leading the Jews. You would be absolutely amazed at how many famous bipolar people there are that you would never think in a million years was actually BP...check this list out if you are curious: http://www.bipolarsupport.org/famous.html
Again...I am not saying this is 100% accurate, but what I am saying is that I am extremely educated and familiar on the subject and it is glaringly obvious about Charlie to someone like me who does have this knowledge. They truly are amazing, gifted people in their own right....but they are also not typically what anyone wants to be around long term.
Hope that clears it up :)
Oh yea...I should point out that you would also be surprised at how many top name pros in our own community are bipolar also, with the most obvious Mike Matasow. Mike's life was on a complete collision course, similar to Charlies, until his world came crashing down with incarceration. Since then, he has been treated, medicated, and look how much his life turned around! In my opinion, he is one of the most talented poker players in the world and there is no doubt in my mind that majority of that is simply because of his bipolar gifts. Mike is an obvious one and gone public, but there is a bunch more of the top dogs that you probably have no idea about ;) -
Holy shit Bears you should send that to get published lmao
-
I know and have known some folk in similar manic state, Polar Bears is by no means off with his concern. Relevant to PD not so much tho.

I wasn't trying to give you the biz D...just having fun...thought it was funny that may age kicked in is all :)

Duh obviously he'd grind twice as good as anybody else cuz he's bi-winning.
He's also known Emilio Estevez brother have you not watched the mighty ducks? I doubt his brother got as much tiger blood as him but it's evident that it is powerful tiger blood.
