  1. <html> <head> </head> <body> You know them... the player who goes in with A-K to the River and catches nothing, only to lose to another play who was lucky to catch two pair with his BB hand.

The A-K goes nuts and writes in the chat box something like, "What an idiot! How can you call that bet??? You're such a ...."

    You get it.

It's always tempting for me to write him to let him know what a great move it was to stay in to the River with nothing. How he can call off 2/3 of his chips, etc.

But, I never do... I'm not sure if that would put a target on me from that guy. (Which may be good *or* bad, if you know what I mean.)

So, is it a good idea to push someone over the edge?

  2. Everytime I start talking at the table I seem to start losing. Players tend to target you and that is not good. When I am quiet I tend to play better. I really do need to stfu at the poker table.
  3. It's never a good idea to criticize someone for their play, no matter how bad it was. Im just now getting to the point where I dont do it myself. You don't want to tell someone how to play. You want that guy calling you down with AK on your two pair. If you criticize someone for their play, then a target will be put on your head, not just by the donk, but by the whole table. They will play less than mediocre hands just to bust you. And you think you're mad now.

There are certain things you could say to get a player tilting. But criticizing his play is not one.
  4. He's already over the edge; no need to push. However, if he asks you "How can you call that bet???" answer "by clicking the call button". Tweaks them up every time.
  5. <html> <head> </head> <body> I agree. Maybe I didn't make this clear.

Usually, it's someone who is complaining about some stupid play or bad beat, etc. It's just so tempting to chat him up to tilt him... but I never do.

  6. I see Trance. If it didn't involve you initially, then I dont think you should get involved. Now if he is bitching at you, then sure fire him up.;)

I know what you mean about drawing attention to yourself if you are the talker. This usually happens to me when I am showing lot of bluffs and stuff. Very dumb shit.
  8. Thats why I never show bluffs. I swear, players target the hell out of you when you show down a bluff. Forces you to have to wait for a big hand as you will get called to the river after a show of a bluff.
  9. I had a guy like that the other day. Called a 4x the blind bet. I had AK suited and he had A3 suited.

Then the board came something like 37959.

He bet into me, I raised him big, but he stayed in with his pair of 3's. I bet him on the turn, he called. Then checked the river. I told him, but I really should not have. He called about $100 on those 3's.

I should not have reraised him cause I only had AK, but he called. Need to learn to avoid poor donks who are and always will be broke, unless, and this is a big caveat, I have a big hand.

I'm the fish if I don't do that. I would never be calling large bets with A3 and catch the 3 pair, and when I end up winning think I'm doing anything else then poker suicide. I play with many players who take risks but are great players, sadly others, and there are many, who have picked up the game get the rare win, but they lose way more then they win.

He's gonna be broke his whole life if he thinks that is a good call. It's like closing your eyes, sticking your head in the sand, and thinking you won't get eaten by the Lions two feet away. Most of these guys don't have the money to play 3's like that, but then again, they never will have the money.

So for people who call a 4x the BB after they originally just called the bb utg in a 6 man ring and they have 49 suited, sure wind him up if you feel like it b/c you just caught the flush and took $80 bucks. Still does not change the fact that in all likelihood as you are typing in those words, many at the table realize it's just a broke dick typing away.

That's the way I see it!
  10. I Had some guy go crazy at me yesterday for a play (which really wasn't bad at all) to which I replied:
Thanks for your advice. You are right, maybe I do need to learn how to play better. I think I will go and use your money to pay a real poker pro for some lessons.

Needless to say he was kinda pissed at that. Took the rest of his money next hand.
