  1. Made me pretty sick reading this, the whole situation obv is extremely shady and the PPT def needs to do something about this... it's really hard not to call this a major French bias, I hope Michael Binger is right when he thinks this isn't cheating
  2. What have we learned from this post?

    1. never table a hand until you get the chips or know for a fact your opponents call.
    2. Dont go across the pond to play with the french.
    3. I guess we know why they give such good comps/rates. Its to get the americans over there so that you cant understand a thing that they are saying in their rulings.

To bad all of this happened, IMO if they are trying to get american players big names or internet players to cpme over and play in these new tours they should have english speaking floorman also. we should do the same for the wsop and the wpt. That way everyone knows what the hell is going on. Its a lot of money that these players are bringing into their casino it should be the least they could do is have translaters working there while this much money is in play/being played for.
  3. Would just like to point out that at the EPT in Berlin, anything said to the players was said in both German and English.
  4. Much respect for a pro like Binger to stand up for someone instead of keeping quiet and letting the screwing keep going on. I don't think he cared about how long he is banned because I doubt he will ever return.
  5. It seems with big tourneys like this in europe they have to get regular pitbosses and floormanagers to rule the game. Poker is pretty new in europe and a lot fo those high ranked people come from the old french roulette games, they didn't had proper training except for some book they read about it and they definately do not have the experience in leading a tourney the size of those... What they should do is to invest in training but that means they need to miss staff for a while and it would cost a handfull of money. Partouche is all about the monney as any business in the world is. Also it is hard to find qualified people because in europe working in a casino is not a good payed job considering you work almost every weekend and 4 to 5 nightshifts a week. We cannot blame the TD's but only the group itself in not investing and wanting to attract players to their casino in any way possible. Poker is second grade and they only want the players to play the classic games or the slotmachines. I have been lucky since my old company sent me to canada to get my trianing over there, they invested in me and then used me within their company on spots were i was needed. Hopefully they read this thread and get the message!!!! Do not blame the players because they try to get away with it and sometimes they succeed. I have seen a million of those similar situations..... hands are tight up if you do not have qualified personnel.
  6. Wow........ your saying if there is no one to enforce rules/laws the we can all act and do as we please if we can 'get away with it' and can't be blamed for our actions. nice touch
  7. Poker is not a relatively new game in Europe, Poker descended from the game "brag" which was played in England from about the 1700's, Poker (a derivative) started the rounds in USA about 1820. There really is no excuse for what happened and the poor fellow who lost the pot should have just thrown his chips into the middle and just walk out, never to return......

I remember a scene at the WSOP with a Russian guy, who was ridiculed for the fact that he didn't speak English. All the angle shooting and cheating is off, but speaking French at a French poker tour is fair enough, all you have to do is learn the number 1-10 and maybe even raise, check and fold in French, that's not hard.

You need to meet some then, that lazy generalisation is racist on it's own, there are idiots, racists and general ass hats everywhere, no nation gets the high ground.

This is elementary. The idea that a countdown should be in English at a French tournament is absurd.
  9. another reason to hate french ppl

Was finding this thread slightly entertaining until this, now it's made my night!

What I do not understand is why people jump to ignorant generalizations about French culture and morale just because of this stupid poker tour being in a shady part of the country. But I do think that they should quit dying their hair blonde and wearing extremely loud graphic tees, lol jk!

Complaining that the casino officials spoke in French is nothing less than ridiculous. You are in France!!! If you don't speak French, it is your problem. Do you want them to repeat everything they say in 5 different languages to please everyone at the table?*For those arguing that English is the most widely spoken language, 1st of all this point is irrelevant as you are not in an English speaking country and second of all, 3 languages are more widely spoken:-
    *
    Mandarin Chinese 836m
    Hindi 333m
    Spanish 332m
    English 322m
    *
    So should everyone learn Mandarin?
    No!
If you decide to go to a country to play, you either learn the basics of their language or you shut your mouth and accept it.

Also, this portrayal of France as a hotbed of corruption is so misinformed and arrogant that it angers me.
I'm sure most of the people posting these allegations have spent a maximum of*4 weeks in the country, if that; so to*make these sweeping statements is simply another case of a "holier than thou" attitude that*a*not insignificant number of people living in the US demonstrate time and time again. Corruption is evident in every single country in the world.....to make France a special case is just deluded.

lol at 322m speaking english... so now that the U.S. is covered what about every other country. English is the most widely accepted language worldwide. Mandarin Chinese is really only spoken in China.... so that kills that arguement, i guarentee you there is no language spoken in more countries than english.

nope, i am just saying that in order to enforce the rules you have to know them by hearth and in poker there are so many situations possible and 'grey area's'. For TD's that do not have the experience it is hard to recognize faul play on the spot , specially in a situation like that. I am not saying that they made a correct decision, not at all, they fucked it up big time and this will be a big lesson for them. I am sure afterwords they had bid discussions about this matter and i am pretty sure that the TD's have been spoken to and asked what made their mind up how to deal with it. For tourneys like this you really need to attract qualified people !!!!!!!!
  13. LOL @ PPT

plunge protection team french style; leave it to the french to take this american invention to a new level hehe

anyone know if we can bet on the outcome of this tournament?

I am willing to bet that a french player will win this tournament LOL

watch how final table HU the dealer mucks the royal flush of a non french player vs a pair of deuces belonging to a french player

Alle alle alle france for the win!!!
