FTP just put $250 into my account because they said a cash table I was at had collusion going on. I do not remember this session and can not recall what day it was on. I am thankful ftp is trying to stop these people but I have to wonder how much this goes on. To catch these people someone most likely had to email ftp and they had to start an investigation. How many times am I sitting at a table with cheaters and I do not realize it, lose a few hundred...thousand....dollars....get mad and leave, not knowing I was duped. This is not the first time I been refunded money, and might might not be the last. But my guess is 1 in 100 times do I actually get the refund when I have been cheated. maybe I am an idiot for not recognizing it when it occurs, but when u play multi tables and think u already have a doomswitch on ur account it is hard to tell. All in all, anyone who reads this if you think you are being cheated at a table, report it. You never know and you mine as well find out. Anyone else had this type of thing happen to them recently?

So you were a victim of collusion on FTP.. but FYI, collusion happens at all poker sites, not just FTP.
pokerstars has an excellent team do an investigation when reports of collusion are emailed to them.
Since you play multiple tables and not easy to catch cheaters, be happy someone was paying attention and reported them and you got some money back!
Don't sit there and say it's just FTP when it happens pretty much at all sites and its the risk you and everyone else takes playing online! -
It is good that Full Tilt was on top of it and reimbursed you.

I meant whats new, like online cheating is going on, and it happened to be ftp. nice response though jackass. Thank you for talking to me like a 12 yr old though. Also, where did I just say it was FTP? and why should I be happy that I am getting ripped off lol.

Then fix the title of your thread as it sounds like you are constantly getting cheated on while playing at FTP!
I never said you should be happy getting ripped off.. I said be happy that someone was paying attention and reported the collusion to FTP and you got some money back.
Quit whining like a 12 year old and I wouldn't treat you like a 12 year old! -
srsly

what did you expect from this thread ? mesa gave you as serious a response as you were gunna get, and you rip his poker scores ? lollll keep on douchin !
-
actually read the thread. Now that you have read it realize the thread was intended to A. tell a story, B. warn people of cheating and to alert the sites if suspicious, and C. Ask if anyone had similar stories. No where did I ask to be lectured by a play money player on the risks of online gambling. Keep reading in between the lines though. Typical p5 idiot.

You do realize bringing up people's scores that is not relevant to the discussion in this thread that you can actually get banned?
FWIW, I gave you a serious response and if you don't like it, just ignore me then!
OP, you need to grow up. You got money back cuz someone else reported collusion at your table or otherwise you wouldnt have gotten your money back because YOU didnt realize cheating was going on and yet you still bitch and moan about it.
Grow the fuck up!! -
I haven't had anything happen recently, but I did have a few "odd occurrences" at cash tables. That's one of the reasons I rarely play cash games on-line.
After a decade of on-line poker, there are probably many people who've figured out a way to cheat successfully. Some of them get caught and banned, others doubtless take their place.
Probably the only way to make sure you aren't being cheated is to play at such ridiculously low stakes that cheaters wouldn't be able to make enough profit to make it worth their while to target your game. Of course, human nature being what it is, even the penny-ante on-line cash games probably have some idiots trying to cheat there as well.
Bottom line is, if we all knew how much cheating/collusion/Super-User/Software-audit/ scamming is going on, we'd probably all cash out and look for a more honest game far, far from the Interweb. -
what types of things tip you off that there may be collusion taking place? (not to OP, to anyone). I've never played higher than 1/2 and occasional 2/4, so i doubt that I'm a victim, but it would be nice to know what to look for.
edit: only thing i can think of is seeing the nuts get checked down flop/turn/river -
Munson,
What stakes do you play? there was a thread on here (that went into more detail on 2+2) about some screen names at the mid-stakes level who were cheating. Search for that and then match up verse your hand historys to see if this is maybe what they are talking about. -

3-handed play can you can see it. Let's say, flop comes, you are player A you bet, (players B and C are playing together) player B raises and player C re-raises, as player A you are pretty hard pressed to call a raise and re-raise without the nuts/near nuts. Now this could happen on the flop, turn, river, etc. I'd think it would happen on the river more when somebody has the block card (i.e. Ace of a flush) but that's just one example.
In the full-tilt example they had one of the guys they expected making the player C bet I talked about above but player A called because he had the nuts.
Sorry if I rambled and didn't make sense, trying to type the post quick. -
Thanks dude. Appreciate it.
