  1. im somewhat surprised i couldnt find anything about this here already, interesting thread with a pretty big accustion or two..

    http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...art=1&vc=1

it is odd to me how little information is given to us not in the know in general when it comes to the whole multi-accounting thing, assuming there are indeed a number of folks who know exactly what is going on as the thread and others i have read insinuate.

  2. i understand that people don want to out their "friends." but the fact remains that multi accounting is the biggest problem possible for online poker. having multiple entries into a tournament is horrible for business and needs to be stopped somehow.

eventually someone has to stand up and give these people up. IT HAS TO BE DONE.
  3. 290740127 posts, nothing to report...Camp 1: this sucks and the site has to stop it. Camp 2: this sucks but it's not the site's responsibility. Camp 3: don't tell people it sucks b/c you'll chase out the fish. Great read.
  4. i wouldnt go as far as "nothing to report". i think the biggest accusation was the def JJprod. adanthar seems to know whats hes talking about. again, its all just hearsay, but the people on the inside that know whats going on should definitely confront him. conversation should go something like this "we know what you are doing, either stop it or im going to makei t public" end conversation
  5. Basically the jist of the whole thread is the fact that so many players know cheating is going on and by the sounds of it they know whos doing it. Yet no one is saying who these people are.

This was the only quote I saw that mentioned a name, which wasnt all that shocking.(I think I have heard this before)

a rumor i've heard more than once... (but could just be a rumor i suppose)

since having JJprodigy removed from the P5's rankings, JJ has had two names ranked simultaneuously.

  6. if true(and i am assuming he is still entering two + accts into same tourney) this is way more damaging to the integrity of online poker then what 46 pulled off, imo.

guess being well liked when you are cheating/decieving is pretty important.

  7. Seems to be a few of these threads lately. The thing is I don't know how you stop multi accounting in tourneys. I am computer retarded but I don't see how you couldn't have an acct in mom, dad, brother sister etc name and use different interent companies for each acct and enter the tournament multiple times. How would the sites stop this. Say you use 3 different verizon internet cards or a combination of a verizon card, cable etc. This is the type of thing anyone could do I would think.

The whole reporting rumors to sites thing is questionable. I understand the I have no proof and don't want to start a witch hunt thing. But I also say if you hear it and just report it to the site without posting the info on a message board the person you suspect isn't really harmed because only the site knows about it and they aren't going to do anything unless they can prove it. I rarely play tournaments because I am not good at all but if I did I would hope the mtt community would want to police itself as best it could.
  8. Hell, i could only imagine how much of this goes on in the higher ranks between those "in the know". A friend brought it to my attention that someone he knows had a few accounts in the sunday mil a while back and FT'ed it.
  9. i think a large part of HAS to be self policed. If someone is multi-accounting, the poker world should know about it.

From a technical standpoint i dont think the poker sites can do much, but if you know who is using multi-accounting to gain added EV, i.e. getting two or more shots at each major, then tell the sites to investigate at least. i mean it can be anonymous even.

as GambleAB points out on like page 13 of the thread, theres a big difference between a one time innocent power outage and someone who daily does this shit. They can still get 8 "dummies" and multi account, but at least make things slightly more difficult on them.

the witch hunt BR tried to start was misdirected in my view, going after guys with accounts not in their nameshouldnt be the focus if it is the only account they are playing on.... going after guys who are multi-accounting on a regular basis should be the focus. It's difficult/nearly impossible to police unless we do it ourselves considering the vast egos of poker players in general.

  10. IF JJprodigy had 2 names ranked on here...It because he PWNS.. Not because he multi accounted.. You guys think hes still multi accounting ?? LOL.. C mon man.
I dont even know the kid..But I know he was too smart, to be that stupid. You think a guy who had like 200k confiscated is gonna risk getting caught multi accounting again ??
BTW... JJprodigy won all those tourneys with skill...not cheating. Contrary to popular belief.
  11. did you read the grandma story he posted? he doesn't strike me as 'too smart to be that stupid'....

  12. Here is the problem. Many people are allowed to play from the same network in the same place at the same time in MTT. The sites don't allow these players to sit in the same cash games but they can play the same MTT. If you and your brother and mother all have legitimate accounts and all want to play the sunday million you can. How can you possibly stop one player from taking over an account when he busts or more blatantly playing 2 or more accounts simultaneously. Unless of course they cant be quiet about it and have to brag on the forums that they took down a tourney on an alter ego.

There is no doubt multi accounters are in every big tourney and if I felt it was a big disadvantage to me personally I wouldn't play. Next you will want to stop all the 14-17 year olds from playing. The sites can not stop anyone unless the player outs himself. There is no way they can guarantee who is hitting the keys or if they are ghosting. But why not let these stupid people that get caught buy as many entries as they want.

The only way to make a dent is to not allow players from the same IP to play in the same tourney like they do on the sng and cash games. Is this what you are asking for? Bad news for the dorm players.

  13. i think its hard or impossible to stop them all. i dont think its that hard to stop ones who are knwon to be doing it. do you see the difference here?

  14. And ActionJeff playing the part of Seymore Scagnetti!

Scagnetti: I was born and spent the first part of my life in Texas.
Dwight McClusky: That's funny, you don't have the accent.
Scagnetti: I don't wanna talk like those assholes.
Dwight McClusky: My mother was from Texas!
Scagnetti: I meant those other assholes.

Jeff: Hey! You assholes are cheating! I'm gonna do something about it!
d00ds in thread: Didn't you just say that it's your friends doing it?
Jeff: I meant those other assholes.
  15. It can be done. I live alone, but if I wanted to play on 3-5 different accounts in the same MTT tourny, I could do it if I wanted.

All you need is 5 cpu's (central processing unit), special crap to hook each other up to your monitor, which you can get at any compute store and the most important thing that would enable you to get away with doing something like this, is ISP masking software that IS available to purchase.

So for example.. Im in arizona, lets say I set up 4 accounts to play in the sunday millions, I would have my ISP show as Arizona, then in one account, ISP would show Im in New York, then the other account I would have it show I'm in Florida and the last account I could have it show that Im in the UK. So, if pokerstars did an ISP check, they would see that I'm not multiaccounting.

Do I think multi-accounting happens? Of course. Do I care? No because I play at the lowest limit and I dont intend on making poker my living.
  16. what gambleab said is pretty true
    1
  17. I can play the dummy roll for 50%
  18. what did gambleAB say?
  19. I made this account because I don't have posting privelages on my main account for now.

I just want to say most rumors, including the rumor I had 2 accounts ranked at once, are ridiculous. I really do wonder who thinks these up sometimes.
  20. so jjprodigy is made out of wood?

  21. So....What are we to do???? JJ has two ranked accounts??Everyone is cheating??I cant wait for someone to man up and say whats really going on.Hey has anyone talked to YourTimeIsUp on this issue?Did he only come forth with the Wubanga/Darvin ham/46 info becuase dosnt like one/all of those players?? Will YourTimeIsUp save online poker?? Stay tuned for tommorows episode.......

  23. YTIU posted in the 2+2 thread.... I think his stance on the issue was that even though most of whats being said is true, is practically impossible to prove.
  24. Sorry, but self policing is simply not a viable solution. In a community so rife with competitive individuals, elitism, back talking, bad mouthing, immaturity, jealousy, deceit, anonymity and resentment any real useful information would be drowned in a hailstorm of false accusations, finger pointing, denial, etc.

The only possible solution is for sites to develop more sophisticiated and effective collusion and multi-account prevention measures.

Unfortunately the only way they're going to invest the time and money to do this (it's not a simple task) is if they see it as impacting their bottom line profits, and as long as tournament registration numbers continue to climb and the truckloads of cash continue to roll in, they're not going to lift a finger to resolve the problem.

Therein lies your solution. If you really want the cheating to end, stop playing on sites you feel are allowing this activity to go on unchecked. If you do so in large numbers and the sites see tournament registrations falling and players calling for action, they will take it.

In short, as is almost always the case in this world, money talks and until it does nobody important is going to fucking listen.
  25. I'm with Games Geek here,

Self policing won't work, just like it didn't stop anyone (or very few) from using steroids in baseball. Some people will break every rule for a competitive edge, and others just aren't going to turn them in. Not only that, even if people did turn them in, you would start having people getting turned in just to "get back" at them, and innocent people would be dragged through the mud.

Yet, I'm not positive that the sites will be able to do much about it.

I don't know, is it possible that certain tournaments could be set up that allow multi-accounting? Just have certain tournaments (on certain sites) where you can enter as many times as you want (even under the same ID). It may give an advantage to some, but at least it wouldn't be an "unfair" advantage, and possibly it would get some of the cheaters to stay in those tournaments (and make for some interesting discussions here on the proper strategy for those (do you chip dump to yourself in a certain spot when only your 2 guys are left in a hand).
