  1. what in the world is chip dumping? and is it leagle?
  2. Chip dumping is simply when one player gives another player some or all of his chips in a situation that is not dependent on the cards. It is a form of cheating.

An extreme example would be on the first hand of a tournament where everyone gets 1000 chips, player A raises to 999 and player B goes all in for 1000. When it gets back to player A, he folds, so as not to let the cards play into the hand. He's "dumped" all of his chips to Player B. Player B now has an advantage over the rest of the field.

The show TILT seems like it is going to soon showcase chip dumping, which will show why it can be a problem. Of course, they are going to blow it out of the water and have 30 players dump chips to the Matador in some ridiculously over the top cheating scheme, but that's how they roll.

  3. Hey CAL, I am thinking about starting a gang at the WSOP this year and I gonna recruit about 2 dozen or so "horses" that like their buy-in paid for that will dump their chips to me in a 5,000 player field. Are you interested? I mean, there will only be 5,000 people at the WSOP this year.
  4. Be aware that 'transferring' chips at a headup table is also considered chip dumping on UB. My account was frozen for doing this with someone who didn't have a preferred account.
  5. what if a friend owes you money, and you goto a heads up between you and him and he dumps money to you, its not like its affecting anyone else....?? or is that bad too.

sometimes i'll transfer money to friends accounts that dont sign up for a neteller and they will use an account on a site there on and pay me back there.

    or is all that wrong?

i see chip dumping here and there at sng's and cant stand it. a group of us had a private tourny the other night, and we invited some "real life" friends that were married, and it got down to 5 paid 4 and one of the married people were short stacked the other had chip lead and everytime they got in a pot together there would be the raise, re-raise fold, everytime, needless to say there not invited back to our tourny's.
  6. I had a long correspondence regarding chip dumping with UB support. Generally speaking it always involves giving an advantage to another player, but technically even if you do it at an empty table it is considered to be chip dumping and UB does enforce it. As I stated before, it is a way for people to launder money because there is no paper trail of the transaction.
  7. i see now, thanks for the info, didnt know about that.
  8. On UB if you do not have a Preferred account you can still transfer money through Customer Service. You need to Email them with the following information.

    Your Name
The person you are transferring money to
    The amount
And your secret answer to your secret question like (Mother's Maiden name)

I have transfered money to people this way a few times and it is usually done very quickly, so chip dumping is not needed.

  9. yeah i started doing that after the dumping, i chip dumbed months ago when i first started, then figured out about the email, but then since i racked up 4K pts in less than a month and a half, i emailed UB to get a preferred account, they have the rule of 4 months no re-deposits, but i wanted my preferred membership, the email works well, but takes 1/2 day at quickest for them to get it.

many occassions we have monthly private tournys and friends forget to re-deposit and they need $10 or something in less than 30min.
