Too funny, this guy gets canned and Imperium continues on like nothing happened...LOLOLOL
-
Should have been done immediately after he gave that interview. They should have never given him that vote of confidence and then give him the boot.
-
Why is Imperium still allowed online...and what sites?
-
JusBon, Imp lost alot of money on FTP because of this, he just is trying to move-on like he should. He seemed to have learned a valuable lesson, and made a mistake, owned up to it, and over time people will forgive him if they haven't already done so.
Chris on the other hand, was an editor for a major poker publication. His job should be at risk if he is doing unethical poker behavior just like a lawyer's job would be at risk if he gets caught drunk driving.. I am surprised Bluff waited so long to do this for their own credibility. -
obv they had cheated, multi accounted, shared cards, etc.... Im not familiar with what occured, can someone give me a brief sum up.. thx
duffer230 -
So since Imp's job is 'Poker' any unethical behavior is fully acceptable....LMAO!!!
And the only lesson he learned is 'To be more careful next time' so he doesn't get caught! pfff -
Just like the lawyer example, a random person who drives drunk will get the punishment that comes with it, but a lawyer who drives drunk may also be barred from practicing law. Makes perfect sense.
-
nevermind, found the interview. here it is for anyone else who was out to lunch for months when this was occuring lol..
http://www.pokernews.com/news/2007/1...-speak-one.htm -
Imp paid Vaughn for the right to take over Vaughn's seat/account deep in the FTP 750K and then split the winnings. They got caught.
-
Does anyone have a link to where Imp owned up to what he did? I haven't seen an apology from him about this....
Since he plays higher limits than I do, I don't really care since I'm won't ever play against him, but this does not send a good message to others that are thinking about doing this IMO.
He'll obviously have to earn his credibility back with the poker community, but I won't take away the fact that he's an excellent player. His record speaks for itself. -
damn, I feel bad for the guy...for all of you unsympathetic jerks who are laughing and getting enjoyment out of this, have some compassion for crying out loud. He let greed cloud his better judgment (something I'm sure we're all guilty of) and made a mistake which cost him his supposed dream job...that's punishment enough.
-
I can't say I feel bad for him, but I would say he has now gotten what he deserves, and we should lay off. I'm sure he regrets it like nothing else he has ever done, and his punishment was plenty harsh.
-
Yes, yes, the poor fellow...I'm so glad he still has his oh so legitimate winnings from the Sunday Million to console him in light of losing his 22k per year job with Bluff.
-
hope this is a level

Was there any direct proof that pointed to the illegitimacy of his Sunday Million win? You're a jerk-off, Threebanger...I'm sure you're a pillar of moral soundness, right? Why are you so bitter and hateful? -
Karma one time.
-
What took so long? This should have been a very easy decision for Bluff management as soon as they knew for sure that it was true. He committed a major ethical breach within the industry and I would have fired him within the hour of confirmation that it was true. He has shown a lack of morals and common sense (saying that his first instinct was to lie shows both of those). He deserved this in every way. I bet he really feels sorry for himself now, lol. I still can't believe he and Imp said that they feel sorry for themselves, what a fucking joke of a statement. If you really feel like what you did was wrong, you would not feel sorry for yourself for getting caught. He threw away a very good job at Bluff and he should have known that this would be the consequence if he got caught.
-
How could you feel bad for this guy? He knew what he was doing was not only against the rules, but that it was cheating and stealing from the other players. We are happy about this because the guy deserved and it looks bad for online poker if this guy remains the editor of an important poker magazine, it makes it look like the industry accepts this type of behavior. As far as this being a low paying job, it might be but, it is a great starting point to successful writing career. He was pretty high up at a magazine with a large circulation and he was still pretty young. If he was able to keep his job for a few years, it would have looked great on his resume, plus it would have given him a lot of connections in the poker world (like a connection to one of the top few online players that would be willing to buy his account if he happened to get deep in a major, lol) As far as Sunday Million win, there is no direct proof, but people who would know what they are talking about (Waco) says that he was ghosted by Durrr, another top player.

We have undisputable proof that he is a cheater, and no discernable poker skills. I say the burden of proof is on him. In fact, I say he is a fucking liar for claiming the Million win was legit. Did you hear that, Chris Vaughn and your little suckboy, you're a liar about the Sunday Million.
I am a pillar of moral soundness when it comes to poker. I don't angle shoot, I don't multiaccount, and if I was lucky enough to luckbox my way to about 50 left in the Sunday Million or another big tourney, I wouldn't sell my account for any amount of money. I play a fair game and expect to sit in a fair game.
I'm only bitter and hateful when it comes to douchebags who cheat and the idiot fanboys who blow them. -
It's a double standard between Imperium and Chris Vaughn, but it's an understandable one. Poker is an individual sport and Imperium doesn't need the approval of his peers or credibility to continue playing and dominating.
-
I'd like to see who's laughing about this. This does not look good for poker (online poker to be specific).
Its not about being unsympathetic...its about preserving what legitimacy this game on this medium has left.
I do feel bad for the guy, losing his job, losing his credibiity in the poker community. All b/c of greed...its a terrible thing.
But with that said, he needed to be punished in some way. It sucks being the posterchild and made an example of, but if he doesn't do that, then there's no issue to raise.
However, I am with the general consensus on here saying we should just lay off of him now. He has been punished enough and there's no need to continue kicking a man when he's down. Now its time for him to start earning the poker community's respect back and move on.
