After making the money in tournaments, the pace starts to pick up. I seem to make the money a good percentage of the time(about 21%) However, i'm finding it difficult to switch gears and get ready to try and make the final table. I end up finishing anywhere from 20th to 50th depending on the size of the field. For eg. a few nighs ago i played a $11 10B tourney and finished 55th, the next night i finish 28th in the same tournament. it seems i'm passing up on some big money here, and only cashing a little bit. I seem to either get blinded out, or lose my chips to a race or blind vs blind match up. Does anyone have any strategies or ideas on how I should play from the money up until the very end?

Aside from stratagy, you have to keep one important point in mind. Making final tables in these large tournys ( 800-1000 plus entrants ) takes bit of luck. Sure you can put yourself in position a good % of the time by playing solid poker but every single person that makes it to the final table of one of these is lying if they say they did not get lucky at some point in order to get there. Just be patient and continue your solid play. You'll break thru.
Making money constintly in the lower buy in tournys takes a whole bunch of hours and a High Volume approach to the game. -
One thing that can help, watch the players that are playing tight late in games. You can pick up their blinds if you can identify these players. Remember, sometimes when you bully a short stack, they end up winning the hand, however consistently bullying these players will more than make up for those losses. Also, it helps me to slow down the game at my pace, that way its makes me feel im in control! Good Luck
