i am going to be in la for a few weeks in february, what is a good/fairly cheap hotel near the commerce casino??
-
The Commerce has a hotel i believe. I'm from LA and have played a few casinos there. Commerce is the best, but the Bicycle Casino is good too. The Commerce is in a NASTY part of town so I'm not sure if you want to stay "close" by. If you coming just to gamble then i would stay at the Commerce hotel. Otherwise stay far away from hotels near it.
What game/limits are you looking to play?
oh and not to spoil anything for you but the Commerce rarely opens up the 2nd floor poker room, the one that makes them "the biggest poker room in the US". -
This post is pretty redic. Commerce has a ton of tables without the 2nd floor. Nearby hotels to stay at would be ramada, doubletree and embassy suites. Commerce hotel is almost always fully booked in feb.

it is pretty easy to get to Commerce (by LA standards) as it is just off the I5. as said above it is not a great area.
depending on how much poker you plan on playing, and if you are doing touristy stuff as well, it may be better to stay closer to those areas and drive down to Commerce when you want to play. -
do not stay near the commerce .. i stayed in hollywood which was maybe 15 minutes away and it was great .. i ended up at the bike which was an extra 5 to 10 away and enjoyed it .. the casinos are in kind of rough areas so i recommend hollywood
