  1. I usually play low stakes mtt's (not really any >$20) and always seem to go up against some weird play like this and never can tell if its just nuts every time, bluff every time, or variation of the two just player dependent. I usually find when i call this spot it is nuts but sometimes villain is holding a really weak top pair or something. idk i would just like some input from some low stakes sickos that see stuff like this every once in a while and what they do in these spots. thanks

  2. I don't know why you didn't cbet that board. While there wasn't any flush draws on the flop you could get value from a str8 draw and tens and maybe eights. When you checked, he just took the pot away from you. He's an idiot to spew risk so many chips but he could have any type of combo draw like a pair and a flush draw with that turn. Often it's an Ax two pair type of hand where the villain is just pretty poor post flop and scared so he overbets the pot. Learn which boards to cbet and why and it will make your turn decisions easier.
  3. You call. He flips A-2, you spike a K on the river.

    Easy game.

    lol.
  5. I play low stakes mtts 2 and its pretty obvious that he is trying to take advantage of the fact that you checked on the flop and he is trying to scare you off and steal the pot by representing the Ace.....you should have shoved over top and I guarantee u he woulda snap folded....he prolly already clicked the check/fold button lol

unfortunately, villain open shoved the turn and is all-in
  7. I play these $5 games, and this is a call almost every time.

People overbet huge hands, but you'd be amazed how often this is something like KK/QQ more than a huge hand. It could be 2 pair or a set, but your usually ahead here.

I think you call, and if he has you, he has you.

  9. call and be happy that the early stages of a $5 mtt on stars require no thought process what so ever

why would you c/bet that flop in hopes of getting value from 8s or 10s when you only have A high on the flop

obv cause you will hit by the river, of course.
  13. i guess i didnt c-bet cause i had been c-betting every flop when i open and pretty sure i had a pretty lag image at that point, and also i feel like that flop hit his range by flat/flatting the blind and my raise (JTs, QJ, KJ, AJ).. i guess i feel like he's flatting a c-bet with any pair hes holding (88+), and either flat/raising with any J or set which fits his range imo pretty well. so i guess i felt like the most profitable play in this spot would be to see a free card... i mean i may be well off here, obv by c-betting i would get all the info i needed for the hand, but given my perceived image i guess i felt it would be better to check. but i think im def c-betting most of the time just wanted to know what you guys are doing given the way it was played

  14. i dont like cbetting that flop..i like your check, i dont think hes folding any pair on that flop esp. since you say you have been cbetting every hand..and you shouldnt be cbetting for info..your either bluffing or value betting
  15. cbet is fine but youre almost never getting called by anything you beat. turn is a very easy call.
  16. I bet flop fwiw as played snap call turn
  17. snap it off

  18. Villian either has A2, A9, or he slo played KJ and doesn't wanna play the hand out in fear that you have caught the ace on the turn.

I would insta call for what it's worth, but in this instance I'm sure he flippd over A2.
  19. alright cool, well thanks for the input.. fwiw here's the results of the hand.. i dont think im ever folding here the way it was played either, just making sure i had a few heads that said the same so i knew it wasnt like a leak or something
