Complaints about Bodog, Give me a break

    Pluses, the players there suck, they are giving away about 100k a week and the site moves fast.

    minuses, the site sometimes kicks you off when you switch tables (which genuinely does suck), you can't get a donut in the graphics.

    Most of you people that are there will leave when the 47k overlays go away, I say good because you are missing a basic point. This site is doing what no other site out there is doing to garner your business, they are giving away the most free money. I am sure within a year there software will be great, the players will be better and there will be no overlays. I hope that makes everyone happy. I get really sick of people wanting things both ways, we want online sites to have better customer service and provide us great value. Rather than applauding them when they do, we complain about the few shortcomings they have. Trust me the minor growing pains that Bodog has is largely overweighed by the fact that the games are amazing (read sports bettoes saying "lets give poker a try") and the tournaments have huge overlays. That is what being a profitable poker player is about, VALUE. Bodog has that, so quit your whining.

    Bodogs phone support kicks ass. The best phone support in the industry, bar none. They pick up the phone by ring number 2, and speak English better than I do.

    The site is so fast that you get a lot more hands per hour than others.

    My only complaint is that they didnt run the Reno satellites. But no big deal, now I have a stash of tournament credits to play in a buttload of the $100K overlay dream tournaments.

    The girl in their ad has one of the worst boob jobs I've ever seen. They look so fake. They need to get a good looking girl with some natural looking boobs for me to play there.

    I have also had excellent phone support from Bodog. And yes the phone was answered by the second ring by a very polite and helpful individual. I think it says a lot that they even have phone support.

    when i first tried to deposit there using my UK credit card, it didnt work. I tried it twice and before i could mutter the sentence "f them if they dont want my money" my phone went. I was more than suprised to pick up to a member of the bodog support team, who had noticed my problem and was ringing to tell me that they only accept US credit cards at the moment but they can except netteller. Great service!

    OH.....And im currently chip leader at the final table of their 1k guaranteed tourny ;)

    edit- just had a blow up of mike matasouw proportion to go out loading up the table fish at the same time. im off to spank myself with a badger :(

    Bodog had announced they were running supersats for a number of the WPT events. I was going to attempt to qualify for both the WPO and Reno on there. So I deposited $300, and also got a damned nice deposit bonus immediately.

    I basically turned $300 into $1600 TC + $1 cash.

    I found out in January that I couldnt make the main event of the WPO (I did play the weekend before.) So I continued to build the credits up for the Reno supers. I also came in 2nd in a sat for the $2000 event, which was good for $600 TC.

    I played the first $100K guarantee and cashed for a little over $300, but havent had a chance to play one since. But at least that one gave me some actual ecash on the site.

    enjoy your faux cigar on Paradise, while I am rockin the 5-10 on bodog for a dime a day. I am not being high and mighty, I am being FOR REAL. Bad players and good value make a good poker site. Point blank.

    Great post, bean. Bodog is a major player in online booking and will use its same formula for success to establish itself as a poker haven. The next time Arieh +/or D. Williams are at a big-time final table sporting their logo, there will be another influx of new players. Gotta love what they're doing.

    Anybody who complains about Bodog is nuts. What other site is offering the overlays they have going? They are putting up 30-50% of the prize pools in the guaranteed tournies - - how is this not fabulous.

    Props to Buythebook - he put the sickest move on me last night in the Bodog 10K... moved in on me post flop after I had bet with a AQx board (I had a Q) and he had 52o. I mucked and he showed - - all I could think was F BEANIE!!!! Sick move.

    No one has been able to provide a good explanation of why bodog has some chick with stone implants in their advertising. That thing totally turns me off.

    Glad to hear you won it, man. The 3rd-place finish was a nice follow-up to my first in a March 10K...but I was playing to win and wanted it badly. Got wreckless at final table but you sucked me in perfectly. You were to my left tonight when I tried to punish the limpers from my small blind...should've known somebody at that table would call. Hope you were able to build your stack back up...I'm sure I'll see ya at the table again soon. Take care, FN.

    Bodog is awesome with the overlays. Definitely can't complain about that.

    However, as someone else said above, the beats are horrendous. It's like inviting 9 of my buddies to my house who don't have a clue. Becomes a serious lottery.

    All in all, you can't beat the prizepool for the small entry fees. Really a great deal. But the graphics and ease of use need work. Just my opinion.
