Connecting laptop to LCD tv

    I have a pretty cheap laptop and the onyl connection on there is S video pretty much. I was wondering how to connect my laptop to my tv. If I go buy an S video cable and just connect them, will it work, or what else would I have to do to get it to work?

    yeah...theres that too, however not on my TV

    How does that work? like after I connect it, what buttons or anything would I have to hit to get it to work

    If your TV had an svideo input it will work.

    after I connect them together, what do I do after that...do I need to do anything on my computer? as far as my tv, just have it set to that input, but what else?

    Usually Function+F8 to switch, but some makes are different. I know Fn+F8 works on Dell, if you have another make, google it, there are sites that have the key combo to switch to view on LCD or other monitor.

    click control panel then appearence and themes then screen resolution .....set it up from there

    or right click your desktop, go to properties, then the settings tab. select the 2nd monitor and check "extend..." if you want the screens to be different, or just activate it if you want them to be the same
