Do recent developments with AP have any affect on UB? Since they are virtually one company. Pulled my money off AP, wondering if I should do same on UB for a while?
SG -
i did

ub money has aids
-
I dont play on either, but even though they may have completely different software, seeing as how horribly AP managment has dealt with it I would deffinetly get my money off UB too.
-
lol @ UB.
i quit playing there months ago.
worst site in the history of online poker.

Like I've said before...if the owners/managers of Absolute don't give a shit about their customers, what makes you think they care about their UltimateBet players?
As far as I'm concerned, both sites should burn to the ground and cease to exist. -
This whole incident is just further proof that there is lots and serious cheating at online poker. As I have said in the past when there is large amounts of money at stake people will find a way to cheat. You honestly think its safer at the other sites?

We need to get the word out to all the AP players that there apears to be cheating at the site.
-
cue Helen please

wasnt UB considered a good site back in the day? I forget what happened to make them suck.
And are AP and UB owned by the same company or something? -

A lot of those NL + Rebuy ones are satellites, for the record.
Still, GFY AP. -
this shows nothing. for one thing, if they were cheaters, why would they play so many low limit satellites and then not cash in just as many big events? for another, the guys who play dozens of satellites always have results that show many wins and no cashes, because there's no results shown when they don't finish "first."
-
If you dont think this is something to look into, you are nuts. I am not saying all of them cheated but to not think it looks suspicious is crazy. All winning the biggest weekly tournement the site has all within the same time frame as when potripper won the 1k. I guess they are all just lucky.
-
Fair gaming now.
-
if you look at FANS whole db you can see that they originally did the whole "pretend to play a satellite so i can act like im a one hit wonder and win it under the radar" plan that they obviously had... and then they got down to 31 people and probably got sucked out on and blew the whole thing hahahahahah must suck to see everyones cards and still fck it up so they wait an entire month to do the exact same thing again... I wonder why they waited a month?
-
FTR I am not stating that these people cheated but it certainly looks suspicious at a time when there is so much evidence that something is going on at AP. Maybe they all just got lucky.
-
For the record, last october I freerolled into the then 100k guaranteed and got 5th, then the next week I got 2nd. I'd never deposited on AP and was a 50 dollar depositor on party before that.
-
Once all the good players who are in the know and follow the online poker news leave AP, the only players left on there will be random donks who have no clue what is going on. AP might become the most profitable site out there because of this shit. Just a thought.
-
I reluctantly withdrew all of my money last night and was hoping to get up today and find it was all a bad dream.. I found AP to be profitable and feel like I just quit a dream job that I will never be able to replace ..My biggest fear at this point is if they cant be trusted, then this is not a safe place to keep my money. I worry now that I am going to log in and it is gone.. (like Jet Set) with no way of retreiving my money. Until this matter is completely resolved and my confidnece restored Im not leaving my piggy bank out on the front porch.

- WCOOP Main Event winner disqualified
- Damning evidence that a "Superuser" account existed on AP
I know the WCOOP ME disqualification news is relatively new and that it usually takes a few days for mainstream media to pick up on these stories. But the superaccount story has already appeared in the NY Times.
So - what do you think that the mainstream media reaction will be - ignore, passing notice? Will anti-gambling advocates use this as an oportunity to further their cause? Will PStars get credit for investigating and disqualifying the winner of the WSOOP and show that online poker can be self-regulated?
Will be interesting to see in the next few days what the reaction (if any) will be. -
AWESOME NYT I HOPE THIS KILLS AP.
-
I'm pretty sure that blog did not appear in the print edition. Still a huge audience I'm sure.
This is bad for online poker any way you slice it, but I think Pokerstars has proven that they handled this absolutely correctly, and for me at least that instills further confidence.
I sincerely hope for the best possible resolution of the AP question and that whatever happens it moves the industry forward rather than back. -
Steven Levitt Wrote it?
This should give it even more attention.
