  6. yes, you got punked :)

  7. I think at some point in the hand you need to check for two reasons. You can get him to raise OR keep the pot small. For example if you check the turn when the ace hits. It's def. possible the guy bets the turn and you can check raise or maybe he doesn't and you just lose alot at the river. Or if you bet the turn like you did you can check the river giving him an attempt to bluff the missed draw. I think this is the best line in alot of this situations.
  8. your about a 75% favorite on the turn so your bet does not give him the odds to call, however i suppose the implied odds make up for the call. It was unlucky that he caught the straight and not the flush as it is far more difficult to put him on an inside straight draw than a flush draw. You have to call that river reraise i think as it is very hard to put him on 89 and even if you just flat called your extremely short stacked and i think i would have pushed in that situation too.

  10. PM xxFMXERxx for a great and quick odds calculator. thing is fantastic
  11. I would go broke, you got unlucky he had a gutshot straight draw and a flush draw. He misses the flush draw which I am sure you had him on and I think the only mistake you made was betting on the river. I say this because lets say the last card was a 10-J-Q-K, etc (not a heart) then the only way you opponent would call is if he had something. I believe you would have still had chips left if you checked, but maybe not.
  12. when he raised me on the river, i just kept thinking "shit, what could he raise with me here, he has to have 8-9." i actually thought about just calling, but then i saw that i would have 800 left only, and i didn't wanna be the short stack, so i just shoved it all in hoping he had two pair (aces and a little).

  13. A short stack is still a stack and with one double up you would be right back in it.

You got unlucky for sure. There was no getting away from the hand because the two hands that would beat you should not have made it to the river.
