  2. Mine's hilarious...the player in question is blueberleez back in feb 2006...

"kinda ot - but I read that guy perfectly that bluffed you tonight in a 180 PS...I only had middle pair, but long story short, I took his whole stack on his weak bluff attempt and he FREAKED out, whining for the next 20 minutes"

I want to post the hand in the op for stankee1 to lol at:

This is my 2nd hand at the table so don't have a read on anyone yet. It was hard for me to lay this down but I believe I made the right decision. I put him on QJ after he bet the flop so aggressively. Turns out I was wrong but I would appreciate any comments such as if I should have raised the flop even though it was scary if there was QJ out there. This is only my 2nd week playing cash games.

    Hey p5ers,

I respect Craig's admissions here. I wonder how prevalent this is, and how more of these stories won't mean the death of online poker for Americans. stars had no choice, they have to appear to be reigning in any cheat, or perceived cheating. They are a business and they are going to do everything they can to protect their business. Everyone has to admit this is bad for poker. Wish everyone could do the right thing and play ethically. A top notch player using an alias to play in my opinion is cheating. That being said, Craig you my friend have a lot of work to get respect back. Just disappointed to here this happened and is probably happening as we post.

  4. what a scared fold... it's the big stack thats supposed to be pushing around the table, not the other way around. if youre not calling, dont bother raising. if he wants to race for all HIS chips, so be it. if hes got the cooler, well, it's a cooler. but in the 9.90, youre really playing to get to the final 3 to make it a good investment of your time and money... and youre probably gonna have to take chances in pots like this somewhere along the way to do it. youre still in fair shape if you lose, suck it up and push it in.

in response to someone 4x with ak and folding deep in a 9.90 donkament.
  5. Did some last longer on January 10th, 2006....think its probably the one and only last longer Ive ever won.

  6. From March 15,2006

"Hey guys, I know this is my first post, but I have been reading on here for a while. So I was playing a ring game of Omaha a few minutes ago, and a new guy sat down at the table. I don't know why, maybe it was because he sat with a full buy in, or maybe it was something in his handle, but I felt intimidated, like maybe a decent player sat down and I needed play careful for a few hands. Then I thought about it some more and realized that I am often initially intiimidated by newcomers sitting into ring games. What this really comes down to is in poker ring games should you assume the best or the worst of the players that sit down with you? Obviously they will prove themselves in the following hands that they play, but before they have established themselves should I play them like they are a pro, or like a fish? Just wondering how you guys feel about this, and maybe any factors that come into play with your decision (like guys with min. buy-in vs. max buy-in, or their handle, "AllInOnAA" vs "DoylesBuddy")"
  7. From a thread in 2005 asking for your Top Ten Players you play against. It is interesting to note who is still around and who isn't:

"Here is a UB-centric list from a player who more commonly plays the $30 - $50 MTTs than the $100-$200. In no particular order:

    1) SailorLobell: Best Post-flop player around. Finds out what you have and makes you PAY!

    2) AngryClec: Most Unpredictable. Some advice: DON'T chat with him during a hand against him. DON'T EVEN READ his chat -- he will mess with your head.

    3) Feldliss: Best Short Stack Player. I don't know how many times I have seen him running on fumes at the midway point of a tourney only to see him final table.

    4) Bax: Enough said about him.

    5) Legggggggggy: Toughest Player. Seen him fold monsters and call down huge bluffs (o.k. I admit it, even my huge bluffs) with a pair.

    6) KrazyKanuck: Most intimidating. Not a hard ball intimidator but definitley uses his "aura" to throw you off your game. Another guy you don't want to chat with during a hand (but definitely between hands).

    7) One Oclock: Best at mixing up his game. Recently, while playing against him, I went to make a note on him, was going to write "tight with big stack" but had to laugh when I discovered I had previously made the note "wildly aggressive with chips".

    8) J Free: Best Pre-flop Player. Goes all-in pre-flop earlier in the tourney than a lot of other players. Seems to be right more than wrong.

    9) ChiliKing: Most Fearless. Wow, have I seen some spectacular bluffs and calls from him (usually against KKanuck)

    10) Benefit: Most underrated. Watched him win his seat to Aruba a few months back. Went into the final table fairly shortstacked and needed to be top four. After 10 hands I knew he would make it. Played loose and fearlessly. But somehow rarely risked more than half his stack. Had a great table presence/persona.

  8. Nov. 2007 The RIP Imperrium thread!

The silence is what is strange about all this. Where are the posts form Mizzi and his boyz? I want to hear something from there side. They can hide online but not in live events. Poker players are like elephants we have long memories!

I had been lurking for awile and decided to throw in my 2 cents.

  10. Moorman1 play

Was watching Moorman1 play today. He had just doubled up to 27,000 with AQ vs 1010. A couple hands later a big stack player in mid position opens for 1,800 with bb at 700. Moorman1 was the next to act and shoves all his 27k with A9o, gets an insta call from the initial raiser who had KK. KK took it down and moorman1 was left with 141 chips. My question is was this a calculated gamble by him or what? I mean why not just call or raise in that spot? it just didn't make much sense to me.

Simple.. Chris is a straight donk and it's really his dad playing all of the online tournaments but they use chris's name so his dad doesnt have to pay more alimony to his ex.

The $11 daily 30k on stars. I think I have to win it next time just to be even on it.

In response to what tournament do you do the worst in. It is now the Daily 40k, and I did final table it this year. Probably still a loser in it.

  12. April 19th, 2006:

"I'd say you have to push, I feel your pain by the way, I just finished 6th of 43 in a 50+5 on bodog with 5 paid. I seem to bubble all the time, which is probably why I'm way down in MTT. It's probably because I dont' just sit around like half the people at that time, I play to win. It just always seems to backfire and so far it has cost me a lot of money. One big win could change that, but who knows if that will ever happen. I've never won a tournament with over 30 players, and I've played hundreds.... kind of sad.

Oh well, I may hate the bubble, but I don't fear it"

  13. "yeah, he won the pot based on the hole cards in the hh shown." it was some bad beat thread. one of like 30ish posts made in PD.
  14. I've been reading on P5's forever now and it always helped me and my game alot but I was always looking for a good reason to finally sign up, I found it.

Hey all, first time poster here, just curious if anyone will be heading up to Reno at the end of the month for their Fall pot of gold tournaments? Has anyone ever played in this before?....( i will be going for the first weekend of tournaments). cant wait should be alotmof fun. thanks\
  16. Hey why not
  17. First actually post was something about bad beats but the gold post was like #5 or 6.

Now I know I'll get many people that will either laugh at this and leave, or reply with some stupid comment that doesn't help me out at all. I went through high school with the intention of not getting laid, I just didn't find it appealing, and saw more cons than pros. Well, I'm in college now and I am going back home for the weekend to see some people. This girl I was 'with but not "with"' wants sex, 100% sure, and I plan on obliging. My question is are condoms always just expected? Or is it something where if I show up and she starts workin, and doesn't say anything about a condom, it's perfectly ok to set it aside and not worry about it?

I figured the fine people of OT can help me in this issue. Please confirm.

Thread titled "Serious Question - Condom or No Condom". FWIW I'm no longer a virgin and I bang on the regular. And I DID NOT fuck that girl. She turned out to have an STD when I went back lool.
  18. I looked, and my first post was actually pretty amazing. I was responding to a thread that called for crazy new tourney ideas, and I basically came up with the whole idea of synchronized breaks. I want some recognition for my contribution to the poker world!!!! Here's my first post, pasted below:

Another crazy tourney idea: How about a site that mandated all breaks for all MTT's would take place at the exact same time, like 4 mins. at the top of every hour? Good for those multi-tablers who enjoy peeing.

  20. It was in response to someone trying to figure out what they did wrong when a guy hit his flush draw over the ops middle set,

    Aug 10th, 2007
"I have this same sort of situation arise a lot and I am no expert on what to do either. In the second hand, not sure how he was playing but as he is the chip leader and he probly isnt going anywhere even if you shove the turn. Top pair, nut draw and if he misses doesn't kill his stack. You just got a bit unlucky there. Do you think he would have called a big over bet on the flop, because thats probly the only way he goes anywhere...."

  22. In response to Ship Happens thread about getting KK to AA & not knowing if he wants to fold in Nov, 07'

Want a shot to actually play some poker in this tourney? You have >>>100 bb's. Folding KK pre sucks no doubt but not near as badly as someone showin you AA... Would SMokey repop QQ or other junk? Yes, so i repop to $1200 and fold to shove. You still have 60 bbs and PLENTY of time... I know it feels like u got setup but shit happens live also... Just had 89 in $1k live buyin with $20k in front of me with $150-300 .50a in sb... 5 limpers i complete and flop is Td7s6c i lead out and get repopped by only guy who has me covered and I call turn is 7 i ck raise his A7 allin he thinks err 2 sec no wait he doesnt think he flash calls and turns it over like hes got the goods and i hear 4 NH's as dealer is putting 6 on river... Nature of beast we call poker.. GG SMD and im GTFO... better luck
