  1. Looking for some info on Costa Rica Casinos and Costa Rica in general. Anybody live there, if so, where?? What is a good city to live in and play online poker, as well as frequent local casinos and enjoy quality nightlife and beachlife?? Any info will help, thanks.

  2. i know nothing, but can i ride in your suitcase
  3. 1. There are many that are open until the wee hours of the morning. Chip denominations are in US Dollars.

    2. I guess you could play online poker from any city that has internet. Escazu is a nice suburb of San Jose. It has plenty of U.S. influence, so you shouldn't have that much of a problem finding a good burger & fries or a ball game to watch at a local bar.

    3. Beaches are ~2 hour drive from San Jose.

    4. Nightlife: If it's booze & women & dancing you're looking for, then you shouldn't have any problem.

    I hope this helps.

  4. Hi -- P5s is actually based in Costa Rica. There are casinos throughout the country. The best ones for live poker games are in the San Jose area. Alex Brenes actually recently took over one of the casinos here, and there is a regular 5-10 NL game there. There are 1-2 and 2-5 games regularly in several locations.

You'd probably have to choose between being near the beach and being near live poker games. We're a couple hours from the nearest beach here, though it's easy to take weekend trips there.

  5. I looked into moving there and was instructed by more than one person that a reliable internet connection does not exist in Costa Rica. However, obviously P5s can't have too many problems though.

I was told the problems are at their worst on the coast, and also there are regular power outages.

If you were looking to buy a property, be careful in the Jaco area. They have been building more and more properties without enhancing the sewerage systems and it is possible in a few years time that it will not be a very pleasant area to stay.

Most of this is hearsay that i picked up on varying websites, but hope it helps.

Our internet is fine....our office has T3 set up, which is obviously pretty expensive but worth it for a company. My house just has standard cable, though, and we have practically no problems with it. The power goes out a little more frequently here than in the states, due to all the rain, but in general I've had very few problems with cable internet here.

I definitely wouldn't be buying property in Jaco....fwiw. Nothing wrong with renting there though, really
