Is this just bad luck for me or should have I been more passive on the turn and maybe laid this down on a big bet? I always play flopped two pairs very aggressively given the multiple ways you can get sucked out in that situation.
I didn't realize at the time that the opponent had just called dead blinds in as I was playing multiple tables but at the same time, I know this player is quite LAG - V$IP of 44 and PFR 24 and that this player will play a lot of bad hands and will play top pair aggressively, no matter the kicker.

If this were a deeper table or whatever, then yes you could get away.
But you are playing at a 30 bb cap table. If you always get all your chips in on a non flush or straight or paired board with 2 pair you can't really be doing too much harm unless against an ultra nit.
If you stacked off for $200 or something, than yes, you coulda got away, but if you check/call turn, you aren't going to fold the river, so stop being results oriented.
