<SPAN lang=EN>
i woke up this morning at 9am UK time and quicky fired up stars to see if any friends had gone deep in any tournies and i stumbled across a very crazy deal being discussed!
It was the Wednesday quarter million on stars…..$300+20 on xmas eve/day.
Thay3r just got busted 4th for $19,500 and refused to deal.
With the blinds at 6k/12k with a running ante of 1.2k these were the current stack sizes.
Iggyry 853726
BP7000 400693
Pokie75 338581
Prizes were
1st $47,500
2nd $35,000
3rd $25,625
After asking for a deal these numbers were roughly given based on the chip count deal. Didn’t have time to note them before table closed…but its give or take the spare 100 or 200 dollars each
Iggyry $43,000
BP7000 $33,000
Pokie75 $32,000
Then amazingly iggyry says in chat I want 45k……….both guys say ok straight away and the new prizes were set at:
Iggyry $45,000
BP7000 $32,000
Pokie75 $31,000
I am no dumbass but this deal is crazy! How the hell do people get away with this daylight robbery…..look at the stack sizes relative to the blinds, there is so much play left in this tourne. They have in the region of 30bb each with iggyry having roughly 70bb……
Maybe im being abit harsh but to increase the guarantee from $25,625 to $31,000 whilst taking away the opportunity of potentially earning $47,500 seems completely insane given the stacks. But I have to admire Iggyry for his negotiating skills!
I know one thing for sure it is now Christmas day and I was going to swerve poker today but with the crazy overlays and completely insane deals I have witnessed today I think I will fire up an mtt session. Lets hope that I find some guys who are in the ‘Christmas spirit’!
Just abit of light hearted reading which i hope you guys find as amusing as me. This deal still makes me laugh! hahahahaha

Support on stars would use 25,625 (3rd place money for the remaining three) then use chip equity for the remaining 82,500.

I actually think the originally proposed chip split is reasonable based on the facts presented. Each player gets third place money and the balance of the pool is split based on chip count. That total is added to the third place money. Again, an argument can me made for continuing to play, but I feel this is a fair way to do it if the game were to stop right here.

Doubt it's me you're thinking of, but I did this once, before I had a clue on chopping:

its still anyones game and to just take 6k more when you could win 20k more . even if they didnt take the deal, they can still take second and get just as much...why throw away the chance at 20k more? seems like a lose/lose/win deal....iggy took first place without a fight hahaha
