BTW: The dealer i talked to said they found out he was staying there and asked for some of it back and the fool gave them $10k in cash lol
heres another video

Wow they make you pay $2 for a poker card? WEAK!
-
I can't beleave he would just hand over 10k because he was scared. The Security guy who reviewed the tape and missed it the first few time was also fired lol
-
this is bull shit, f*ck the 2$ card
-
They will sue him if he doesn't pay up.. Dealer will probably be in hot water as well if that is public knowledge.. Never heard of a place that charges for a poker card, seems like if he is paying the rake he should be entitled, but I guess he is screwed one way or the other..
-
$2 for a players card That such a frigging joke They should be ashamed that part of the story leaked
-
They will never win a lawsuit they can ask for the money back but te perso in under no obligation to pay it back. I work in a cardroom where a bad beat was paid out and too much was given to the players they asked for it back and they got none. The only recourse the casino has is to ban them from the casino until he pays back the money.
-
The dealer i talked to said no one who re-viewed the tape caught it, the dealer missed it and the guy who reviews it after that first guy missed it. they caught it after the main security guy did the final viewing lol i guess his friend ran up to the cage in the poker room bought a $2 card and the player slide the card onto the table FTW
-
it's not even a players card. I'm pretty sure at turning stone every day if you want to qualify for the bad beat jackpot you have to go to a desk by this 2 dollar piece of paper which is allows you the opportunity to win it. It's not just a 2$ card u have to keep with you it's pretty fucking gay imo and obv just another money maker.
-
Here's my argument for the guy keeping the money.
The casino was collecting money from this player (and other players without the poker card) to fund the bad beat jackpot even though he was not eligible for the jackpot. If they don't offer an option to opt out of the BBJ rake or offer non-BBJ tables, then the implication was that all players would be eligible.
If he has to give that money back, then I would say that anyone without a poker card would have the right to ask for their BBJ rake back. -
ffs this thread should be merged with the douchnozzel that thinks he shouldn't repay his debt to stars. The guy didn't buy his 2$ shit ticket he lies about having one guy should have to pay the money back plus interest for being a bitch

My brother was at the table when this happened. Once they realized that kid didn't have his poker card, another player from the table ran up and bought him a poker card and the kid tried to slyly put it onto the table without anyone knowing. The dealer was aware that he didnt' have a poker card but figured he was gonna rake it in on the tip from the BBJ so obv didnt' say anything. He was fired a week later.
-
this... how can the casino expect to win this suit when it was there fault for not checking to make sure that the guy had the necessary documentation to qualify for the JP
-
They can expect to win the suit because the player took someone else's cards which has to be illegal and potentially fraudulent. I do side a little with the player because he was probably paying rake towards the jackpot, but chances a court would side with the casino and bigger chance it will be settled outside of court if it goes into a legal process.
-
it won't go to court and i would say he gives back 50% in mediation and everyones happy, but seriously the casino is fkd up
-
yeah if it was a poker card it would have had his name and or pic or something on it... this $2 thing seems like a ticket you buy every day (or session) to be eligible for this jackpot... If so what a rig Leave the dude alone... They are gonna spend 50K to get back the money anyway.. GG poker room
-
I am at TS 15-20 times a year, isn't it pretty std for the dealer to make sure that you have your card infront of you before dealing you into the hand? That has always been the case when i have been there.
-
They're going to spend a ton of money suing, just so that someone else can win that money. It seems like they're going to get way more negative publicity than it's worth. I hate the idea of going into a poker room and paying $2 for the day just to be able to qualify. I've never heard of this before, and find it VERY poor business practices. The rake is high enough already.
-
I was playing at a local room this weekend and I had a dealer who used to deal in Atlantic City. The table was talking about the bad beat jackpot and how nice it would be and all that crap and he told us he worked at a casino in Atlantic City where not only did the guy who won the badbeat jackpot not get the money... HE WAS ARRESTED!!! Apparently he told the casino to bar him for however long about a month before... so when he won... he was arrested for tresspassing. Ironic??
-
the $2 card isn't to win the jackpot it is just standard and was always in place. Another way for those bastards to make extra which is why i don't go there anymore. Also there rake went up which helps pay the bad beat jackpot lol

i am pretty sure gay ass NY state makes TS require the players card which has nothing to do w/ the bbj
Edited By: Iplaythabored Feb 4th, 2011 at 02:57 PM -
First off, the casino saying the money was "stolen" sounds libelous to me. I would have my attorney counter-sue them for defamation of character.
Edited By: Cabo Feb 4th, 2011 at 04:24 PM
Secondly, it sounds like the casino is selling $2 tickets to a raffle (the BBJ) so I'd have my lawyer explore the legality of this raffle and ask for a full accounting of all this money since inception.
Thirdly, I would argue that the casino did an insufficient job of making sure all players knew of the requirement in advance.
Fourth, the casino failed to make sure he had the proper "status" to win the money before they gave it to him so it's their fault not his.
Fifth, TS sounds like it's run by a bunch of weasels. Horrible PR if u ask me.
I hope they don't recover a cent. -

Lol hope he got a fantastic tip. I personally wouldn't give back a dime, the casino clearly messed up here.
