    I'd agree with this. The best of the best is going too far. I look at the WSOP like I would the Masters, Wimbledon, etc. It's a major event and the winner is "the champ" of that event until the next year. Does the "best" team win the super bowl or the world series every year? What if they had favorable matchups in the playoffs? Does that make them donkeys? What if the "best" team has injuries or for whatever reason, when it counts, they aren't the same team that got them to the bowl game?

    After these big games, do you hear the other team say "they're such donkeys and luck sacks....I can't believe they hit that field goal!". Not usually....normally it's "they played great, they're a great team and they just brought it today". If poker is ever to be taken seriously as a "sport" then the onus is on the players to give it that credibility and respect, especially when the outside world is watching.

    Although the wsop is a major event. 7days of constant playing does not equal football seaons of bone crushing injuries, physical tournements i personally feel are gonna go to the player who can push there body to the max. The only injuries in the wsop are bad beats and loudmouths. The percentage OF a better team is more likely to win it all then someone like gold...monkeymaker...hachem.... Tournament poker is all about staying alive. I really dont feel that gold has/had the ability to realize this as well as top tournament players as negreanu, hellmuth, matusow, brunson...the list goes on and on...but these guys dont care as much anymore being that they make millions or at least half millions daily of course with the swings that come along. EVERYONE NEEDS TO REALIZE THEY JUST WANT THE BRACELET MORE THAN ANYTHING. Did you miss what cunningham said...at this point second place is just a dissapointment. Meanwhile the rest of crowd is boasting about just making the final table. Yes ill admit ill also boast about making the final table. But my real reasoning is this is what sets the pros from the amatuers...let alone begginners....My intial reaction to gold was what an arrogant jerk....but wait...this is TV poker...they can do anything to manipulate everyones mind. just layoff everything this is all so silly.The man won the man is also under investigation....its these people that are just making poker SICK to watch. I for one am sick of watching everypoker show except high stakes poker. Give the man a few years though deep down inside i dont think hell get any better. Great move on high fiving chan on national tv. gold is a joke but ill give him a few months till i really bash him.

    If one single event were going to determine the "world champ" which should never be the case, given the luck involved with poker, than the HORSE event should be that event.
