  1. Villain is Eisenhower. I have experience but no real history with him but I have always viewed him as very solid and good.

I know my initial thought was to raise turn, but Eisenhower's lead is for value of some sort (which I can't figure out just yet). I didn't want to blast him off of any Ax hands and felt like he wouldn't shove his draws in this spot, so I figured any 3-bet by him would be for value.

The river blank is pretty interesting to me. The obvious first thought there is to raise his lead here but I think he is going to c/c all two pair hands or ax hands. He's shoving over my raise for value in a lot of spots and his value range crushes my range.

I think I made a mess of things here and I'm not afraid to admit it. Any thoughts on the right line here?

  2. As played, I call, I'd probably also just call the turn too. Probably fold pre unless table is very soft.

  3. I prefer raising pre fwiw. I'm never folding the river, so I'm not sure if that's what you're asking. I'm probably flatting as there are lots of 2 pair hands that he can be betting here, even some sort've big aces he decided to just complete with in the sb.

  4. raise pre...i consider raising river, but im probably not getting a lot of value out of anything i beat vs him

  5. Sorry I was not clear in the OP. I was wondering if the turn call was good and what was the best plan on the river. I am never just folding the river, of course- I'm wondering:

    Should I be raising river?

    If so, how much?

    If so, should I raise/fold or raise/call?

    Thx again.

  6. think the hand is played fine...agree with turn analysis in that your gettin more value by flattin than raising.... I can see his range being heavily weighted towards a weak Ax than really anything else....doubt 25 is completing in the bb could b a 57ss...think there is a ton of value in raisin river to like 1k and callin off feel like this is AT, A4, AJ more than nething...checked flopped for pot control oop

edit: think foldin pre is pretty bad these are very good spots to set mine in the tournament and chip up imo....def dont mind limpin or opening a pot here either i think is fine as long as you balance your limpin range

  7. raise call shove
  8. Flat river. He is in sb and i dont think he is value betting the river with small two pairs. Most of the time you are getting it in against 52 and 57.

  9. OK I went for a river raise despite my concerns. As I expected Eisenhower raised me. Are we calling?

dont rly think you can call the river shove, and it also worries me that hes in the blinds.

did u call or fold? results?
  14. I called pretty quickly. In retrospect I think it was a silly call against a solid player who has not gotten out of line.

I think raise/folding is probably the right play because villain is playing solely value hands based upon this action. I beat most of villain's calling range but I basically beat 33 and 33 only in his shoving range. I see a few posters said to call shove so I feel slightly better about it. But I still think r/f is probably best.

Oh, and he did have 33. Who said the best play is always the most successful one?

  15. yea, after he shoves on the river i only think u beat 33 here as well.. not sure if he's playing 25 from the sb, but im pretty sure his range is only 33, 66, 57, 25? with the river action. b/c i'm pretty sure a reg wouldn't lead into 2 people and then shove with 2pr this early. also, i think something could be said about raising the turn to get value out of Axdd, and i'm not sure if he's folding 2pr on the turn that easily

edit: in like realtime settings, i'd probably call pretty quickly too because i would think to myself sweet he just shoved into my set lol
