"My game is much better suited to the WPT than the WSOP. The WSOP is great and all, but in the no limit tournaments there the focus is pre-flop, where on the WPT, you get enough chips and time to actually make the brunt of your decisions post-flop."
Correct me if I'm wrong but does anyone else remember a blog of his a while back where he was all pissed off, and talking loudly enough for the tournament director to hear, about how much he hated the WPT structure and how the blinds are too high and its just push/fold poker and its such a joke and stuff. I just find it funny how he almost wins the last tournment he played and now the structure "better suits his game." -
I know what you are referring to. I believe Daniel's complaint was with the most recnt WPT event at Foxwoods, which apparently had a rather funky structure. Each WPT event is free to setup their own structure, and obviously the event at the Bellagio suited Dainel better.

If you listen to the Circuit with Daniel he explains it very well. Basically the WPT (20,000 Chips) gives you tons of play for the first few day then on the last day the blinds sky rocket and its an all in fest. The WSOP starts you with much less chips but by the time you get to the last day there are longer levels and more play.

WPT=good structure until the FT.
WSOP(a lot of the events)=shitty structure until deeper in the tourney. -
ya the first ever episode with mike matusow, prolly the best episode for strategy IMO.

His complaint, which I heard in person, was only about the Foxwoods tourney. The WPT event there had both shorter blind levels, and a few levels were skipped. Basically, the Foxwoods tournament shaved one full day of play off.
Each WPT event has slightly different structures, but Foxwoods was a fast paced structure when compared to other WPT events.
