  1. *sigh*

    this is getting pathetic now...
  2. i dont play much on Full tilt but isnt the idea behind the pros that you win bountys and prizes if you knock them out of a tourney? If that it is the case shouldnt you be welcoming the neverending addition of pros to the list?
  3. granted I welcome the extra bounties, but pro's also used to be people to aspire to be like / play like etc.

Having played with him in many GUKPTs I can 100% say that Dave Colclough does not resemble a player anyone should want to learn from...

"learn, chat and spew chips with the pros...only at full tilt"

  4. find something else to bitch about rather than added equity in any MTT he is playing....WTFFFF PEOPLE THAT START THESE THREADS SUCK AT LIFE.

  5. Colclough is one of the best PLO players going.

And is better than a large number of the other 'red pros' at NLHE.
  6. omaha is his game

  7. 1. equity of him playing in MTTs isnt even worth discussing, and clearly wasnt mentioned in OP
    2. Dave Colclough is not better than the vast majority of either red pros or HS players

    3. At least some of the other red pros add value to FT and the poker community by either being players to learn from or fun players to watch, and therefore they attract new players to the site

again, Colclough does neither. Just a "name" from UK...as if that's going to do anything

If you can tell me any positives, or genuine reasons why he should be signed I'd love to hear them...

  8. It will probably come as a shock to many, but there is actually a market place for poker outside of the USA. Not just soldiers playing in Iraq either.

Therefore FT signs pros from those places to promote it and increase its profile in those markets.

To read some of the posts on here you would think some of the posters owned FT, so resentful are they of the way they choose to conduct their business.

BRAINLESS. Theres more than the 50 states to attract new players...

Seriously, why does no one think before they post. I will have to stop opening up these threads to begin with.

Only 50 states in the world? wow
  11. lol, considering I'm from the UK I feel qualified to comment on the UK market
    but thanks for enlightening me

  12. So you would be more aware than most on here - and indeed you said in your own post - that he is a "name". So this is good marketing by FTP. You asked for genuine reasons. There is one.

  13. By a show of hands, who cares what OP thinks on this issue?
  14. These posts are the worst! If an OP makes these threads its obv they have no clue about poker!
  15. Dave Colclough is a very talented player who has done a lot for the Poker Community. He is one of the best Omaha players in the world as well as being European player of the year at least on one occasion.

The massive increase in NLHE events and players has meant that the pros on the circuit now have to contend with a rising amount of NLHE specialists and luck boxes who may run good in one tournament.

Go into an Omaha event against DC and you will be railing a lot earlier than him.

Poker is an international game - just look at Moorman, Gregoir , JayPez etc all from the UK who are rising up the rankings fast. Not to mention many strong players from other parts of the world.

I just wish guys would think before they post there are a few other players on tilt I would question b4 ripping into Dave.

Oh and he did win one of the GUKPT events last year ;)

Poker sites sign players for marketing reasons. They want players to influence new players to start playing (this is mainly accomplished by being a "big name", or by making a big TV table), and to keep current players playing (by offering bounties on them in tournaments, having them available to chat with players while they are playing).

Now it seems to me like Dave is pretty popular, as you seem to know exactly who he is. I've never sat with him, but based on what other people are saying, it also seems like he's quite good at poker.

I see no reason why anyone should begrudge him his status, and I don't see how his status negatively affects anyone. It just seems like you want to hate on someone for their success.

  17. bhitman, u are an idiot hater.
wasn't DC ranked #1 in europe for donkeys [years!] lol.
  18. he was in a $40 tourney I played in last night, I don't have a clue who he is so not trying to hate or anything but he was playing really bad like minraising every hand and calling 10bb shoves with J5o and stuff, seemed like he didn't really care

  19. there obv paying him to play so he attracts more players, its more money in the bank at the end of the day so fk it...more ftp pros ftw
  20. Colclough is very intelligent player....... he's one of few red pro's that truly is a pro in all aspects

  21. What do you get in return for being a red pro @ full tilt???

Gtd. cashouts in 15 days or less and checks gtd not to bounce? That would be a pretty sweet deal.
  22. Yes, Colclough is a name in the uk, and more to the point, he was pretty much unsigned, just doing stuff for his own site, blondepoker. Fair enough fulltilt want to sign pros who tick their demographic boxes internationally etc etc..

They still would have been better off signing up the HitSquad, pity for them bluesq got there first....

  23. ^^^^^^^ agree that Praz or Karl would have been a much better signing, and these are players who are up n coming, rather than has-beens
Dave may be a "name" in the UK atm, but I guarantee that he won't be in 3 years time...even with FT backing

As for hating, I know and have played with Dave for several yrs and am loving the responses from ppl who have probably never seen / met / played with him. GG

I guess we may as well put this down to bad marketing by FT...or maybe great marketing considering so many of you feel Dave is worthy of red status, in which case I am back to my oringinal *sigh*. Shame that Dave is the best that the UK has to offer imo.

  24. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but i have to agree that i find this thread a little hard to believe... If it wasnt for players like Dave colclough, Phil Helmuth, Ram Vaswani, Simon Trumper, Jac Arama, Liam Flood etc etc etc who brought late night poker to our screens a few years back in the United Kingdom, im sure poker wouldnt be as huge as it is now.. When you have won as many tournaments and as much money and as much respect from other poker players then sure come onto the forum and "fire away" maybe we can respect your comments..
