  5. yawn.. standard

  6. Morry made a really gross call preflop to set mine without the implied odds and got lucky. Classic $3r right here.

  8. lol
  9. The only thing unusual about this hand is your flop check, which was a mistake (ignoring the results, since the hand would have played out the same way regardless of how you played the flop).
  10. How is the flop check a mistake? I don't even mind check calling and checking again to further disguise my hand in this tournament because the play is so bad. I applaud the flop check.

I do not however applaud this thread getting posted as it is such a standard hand its really not worthy of discussion.
  11. standard, you did have 20 BB to begin with and you got the flop you wanted. Stack off everytime for me in that sitch. Unfortunate result.

    GL next time sir

It's a mistake because you deny your opponent a chance to make a mistake - in this tourney, with those stacks, you're not getting away from your hand on that flop.

So ignoring the actual holdings, if you bet out 30k or so, there's a better chance of winning a big pot from someone you have crushed (who has a pair of tens, for instance) because that looks like a reasonable flop for their hand and they could challenge what they perceive to be a naked continuation bet by pushing. Even if they call, if a non-scary card hits the turn they may call another, larger bet - so you have a better chance of winning a much bigger pot by betting the flop.

If you check and they have that sort of holding, they may just check behind and you lose an opportunity to build the pot and give away a free redraw and risk a crappier board that limits the growth of the pot (and gives a redraw opportunity). If they bet and checkraise, you'll likely just win his small flop bet if he has that sort of holding. In this tournament betting for value and to build a pot is always the best option.
