  1. Villain was pretty tight playing 23/9 over 23 hands. before I came to the table he had doubled up from 10x w AQs vs QQ and when I was at the table he 3bet shoved 20x w 99 otb vs co raiser (AK). After that nothing significant. Villain's a brand new player on stars having only played 8 mtt's since march 19th, 2$(+)-$17, Sunday Million, DNG and $162 without cashing.
Although I was playing 26/26 over 23 hands at the table, I had only showndown strong hands shoving A3s w 10x from co and doubled vs sb's KJo and 4betshoving AK and doubling up again. Afterwards I raised twice without any callers.
So I open 88 utg and the flop comes 2d7d5s, I tank bet half pot (due to bad connection in my living room) and he instacalls. Then he 2/3 potbets when the 2s turns. It screamed like he hit trips. So apparently I decided to reshove nearly 30x to get the bad news (he had K2o). So should I have called the turn and fold the river if villain shoved? Folding turn would sound wrong to me and even if I'd called the turn – folded river, I'd still have 20x to play with. Is there any merit in reshoving turn vs strong drawing hands here?
I really feel bad about this hand because I feel like I punted my chips away, cuz I was 15/86 and you never know what could happen.

  2. You spunked your chips away mate. When you re-raise turn, what better hands are folding. Some people may be able to get away from 99-JJ (if he called pre with them) but most won't. What worse hands will call? Guessing a 7 should be able to work out he's beaten. Call the turn and decide whether you think he's got a worse hand when he shoves river. Answer: very, very unlikely. He should be able to put you on at least an overpair (and should also consider possibility of you having FH which you'd probably call turn with), and you have the worst overpair, so you are beat.

FWIW, 23/9 (though on a small sample) is passive pre. If he's passive post (reasonable to assume) his river shove is v v unlikely to be a bluff.

  3. i might fold turn, but I am DEF folding river.

  4. yeah, I guess I short circuited for a moment. Knew what I was going to do wouldnt get called by less and that villain prolly binked the turn. Just a moment of stupidity.
It's probably better to fold the turn as you know you're gonna face a big bet on the river. I just needed the confirmation that it was a bad move and I didnt find the discipline to fold there. My own fault.
