I have a TAG image, stealing occasionally and 3 betting in position. Villain here is also TAG. What's your play? Will post second hand after a bit.

  2. fold.
  3. It sucks, but it's a pretty easy fold.
  4. Niki1515 ended up winning I think...good fold
  5. Yeah, Niki won it. Why did you assume I folded? Maybe I called and doubled her up right then and there?

OK, I folded. Still 8 million chips, over 20 BBs, feeling pretty good about my chances.

Now just a few hands later. This time the villian is a donk calling station.

  6. why the change in raise size pre
  7. Two reasons: 1, the blinds have gone up. 2, I randomly vary my preflop raises in a range between 2x and 3x--not a function of hand strength.

  8. Blinds are the same in the HH. I vary as well, although try to keep it between 2 and 2.5x to avoid losing that extra .5bb.

Against a calling station, I think you fire at the pot. He could easily have called with connected/suited hands, broadway, pairs, etc. that missed the flop. Firing a bullet represents the ace and I imagine the villain will fold if he doesn't have the ace.
  9. I actually saw this hand. I think your biggest mistake was telling him you folded KK. Especially if theyy were just making a move against you...shows you fold to raises with an ace on board.
  10. You can fold the KK.

For the JJ hand I would play it differently, I doubt other people will agreee but I would bet half pot and fold to a raise - firstly to get him to fold any non A hand and slow him down if he holds worse. I saw that player and what he was doing. If you check behind that flop, that player will pot mash the turn, and you cant call a huge bet.
  11. offensive--good point. I gave away some info there.

tyson--you're right about the blinds, my bad. You know, maybe I decided to go to 3 BBs in hoping that the station would fold, because he almost never folded to a 2-2.5x preflop raise. Then, I checked the flop then a Q came on board and I folded to a bet.

Huge misplay, IMO. This is the hand that killed me.
