    I HAVE FINALLY MADE THE TOURNEY AS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED IN MY ARTICLE, http://www.pocketfives.com/70F991F9-...3BD84BDFC.aspx
    AND PREVIOUS POST,
    http://www.pocketfives.com/DA35CBC0-...9E7586223.aspx. THE DETAILS HAVE CHANGED SLIGHTLY AND IT IS POTENTIALLY PROFITABLE TO PLAY ALSO

    AS A REAL QUICK SUMMARY, I COACH AT A BASKETBALL PROGRAM FOR INNER CITY KIDS AND THERE ARE 15+ TEAMS IN THE PROGRAM AND WE NEED TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR AND THE FUTURE.

    HERE ARE THE DETAILS OF THE TOURNEY:

    A) MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13TH 830 PM EASTERN ON pokerstars
    B) THE TOURNEY # IS 19324032, under the tourney/private tab
    C) THE TOURNEY WILL BE 100+9. POKERSTARS COULDNT HELP WITH SETTING UP THE CHARITY % STUFF. THEREFORE, OBVIOUSLY EVERYONE WILL BE ON THEIR HONOR, BUT I AM REQUESTING EVERYONE @ THE FINAL TABLE DONATES 50% OF THEIR PRIZE MONEY. Obviously, i will be playing 100% for the charity, and of course, it would be awesome if anyone else did the same. The payment could be made by either transfer or check, whatever you feel more comfortable with (I will give donators tax id #)
    D) If anyone does not want to play in the tourney or cannot, i encourage them to donate as well. If you want to play and additionally donate this also would be great
    E) Password is GB2005
    F) THIS MAY SEEM CRAZY, BUT I HOPE WE CAN GET A HUGE FIELD OF 300 + PLAYERS.
    G) I AM GOING TO REQUEST AGAIN THAT STARS EITHER DONATES THE RAKE OR WAVES IT, BUT AS OF NOW THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. If anyone has any pull to make this happen, it would be awesome

    I THINK THIS IS GOING TO BE AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE AND ALOT OF FUN. I AM GOING TO BE PLAYING IN THIS TOURNEY AND I AM GOING TO MAKE A REAL EFFORT TO ENCOURAGE MANY OF THE TOP RANKED PLAYERS TO PLAY IN THIS AS WELL. I WILL BE ANNOYING ALL OF THEM TO PLAY:). THIS WILL BE FUN, AND ALSO WILL BE GOING FOR A GREAT CAUSE.

    I AM ALSO GOING TO OFFER 5 HOURS OF TEACHING, TALKING ABOUT POKER, GHOSTING TO THE HIGHEST NON-RANKED FINISHER. I HOPE TO GET ADDITIONAL PRIZES SUCH AS HATS, OR OTHER PLAYERS DONATING LESSONS.

    with thebeat, gank, and pearl jam in if they are playing monday...

    Its awesome to see fellow poker players stepping up to the plate for another player. People who think poker players are just degenerates, should really look at these threads and they would realize differently! It dont get much better than that. I wish I had the $ to play, but unfortunately I don't. I would love to donate something though not much but like 25$ or something. I love basketball and Ive coached kids in the inner city too (Boston), so please PM me and let me know how I can make a donation in case I can't play. I maybe be able to play, but it is unlikely unfortunately. Anyways best of luck seriously!!

    GB,

    Great idea and hopefully this will raise a lot of money, however, i think the buy-in may be too high for a lot of people on the site who are grinding out $10 SnGs etc, but would still like to help you out. For people that regularly read P5s and follow the progress of the ranked players, the prize pool is probably irrelevant, the prize is getting an opportunity to test their skills vs. the best on the net in a relatively small field. If there was some way of either satelliting into it, or having it so that everyone gave one buy in at their usual level (say min.$20) and all the prize pool went to charity, maybe this would raise more money overall? Anyways, i'm sure it's taking a lot of your time to set this up as it stands, and to set it up differently would be even more effort, so hats off to ya.

    I'm in and registered. Good job on the planning and implementation of this tourney. Seeing that I am a non-ranked player...i'm gunning for the 5 hours of instruction!

    thank you very much guys...alot of good players.

    also, like i preiously mentioned everyone is welcome to send me a check or transfer money and it will get to the charity if they dont want to or cant play in the tourney. Whether it be $5 or $200, it is greatly appreciated, and will be a big help to the program

    If I can find someone to do a UB/stars transfer with me I will play and donate 100%...of course 100% of $0 is still $0, but hey ya never know!

    The 13th is my birtday and it would be a great Birthday present to be able to donate a large sum to your charity!
