this was jus a $2 tourny..small stakes i know. i have been watching this dude play and his skill was terrible, but u know how it goes when u have a weak player with a chip stack that dont wanna fold marginal hands, u gotta pick and choose ur spots. i felt the limp behind was exactly that q/10-kq. i felt that if he had stronger he would of reraise the small limping chip stack. i know if i had almost 200k and the big chip..i would of reraised the limper with kq on the button. which shows how bad he was. bad thing is the way ive been playing if he would have reraised on the button i would of folded my 9s. weak i know but i could get him in a better spot, one with a better hand or at least better position...let me know if i played it bad -
Id be in it to win it too, ul
-
yeah i feel ya army...a buddy of mine said i should of jus checked and seen the flop. but me flopping the set...iit would of resulted in us getting it in n e ways...so...jus wondered did i spaz pre by shoving?
-
I think you are being results oriented..
By the time its your turn to act theres like 20k in the pot and you have 108k behind...Shove is your only option.
If you just check, flop can possibly bring one or more overcards and you are OOP against two players, thats a difficult spot you dont want to be at.
You played fine; run better next time ;) -
Well you allready had two limpers behind, so to me the worst thing you could do would be to flat limp and see a flop with a pair like 9s. Im either raising to around 15/16k there, or open shovin in...depends how i feel....but as played i feel it was correct, just unlucky.
-
i feel you and the old me no matter what part of a tourny..if i had 9s it was going in 2000/1000blinds or 20/10. but early in a tourny...if im deep ill jus check..try 2 out play them on streets so 1 i can set mine and 2 i can get a feel for their limp range. if im deep ill play pots with anyone with a good enuff hand now a days...and im glad for my positive results lately...but 18 left..i have 9s in the bb...oh no yall not limping my blind...lmao
-
you made the right move.
i bet if u limp and hit a set, and have no action, your friend would be saying "man you shoulda raised pre" -
he was in the bb its impossible for him to flat call or open shove..

i jam it in there easily the villain made a pretty bad call -
exactly scott because AK or AQ in that spot im shoving also..and hes pretty much dominated besides the flush draw..and if i had the ace of diamonds then he really is shit outta luck if its running diamonds..jus a bad beat...im jus small stakes grinding playing adamsapple BR management. so til i hit my next goal its $1-3 180 and tournys so oh well.
