Diff. Online Sites - Pros and Cons

    Id be interested in hearing other peoples opinions as to what sites they like, don't like, features and the like. Personally, I play UB and pokerstars drives me friggin NUTS.

    The main reason I like UB IS cuz I like the interface, although there are couple of things that bother me. One is the limit to a chat line so you cannot finish a sentence. The other is the difficulty in importing hands into Pokertracker. You can do it, but its convoluted and I don't like that silly program you have to run as it slows things up. I like the ULTIMATE BUDDY .. nice for keeping track of people.

    WHY POKERSTARS DRIVES ME NUTS
    First, I like the way you can put a chat message as long as you want into a Pokerstars window. Thats good. For those who play multiple tourneys at once, a MINI VIEW would be good, as UB has.

    But the whole interface drives me completely CRAZY on Pokerstars. First, I'm used to live poker where my cards are in front of me, and everyone else at the table is either to the left or right of me.. with ME being at the center.... I JUST CANNOT GET USED TO HAVING TO LOOK UP OR LEFT OR RIGHT TO FIND MYSELF ON THE SCREEN!! Can you imagine what it would be like playing real poker and having your cards dealt to someplace else on the table instead of in front of you??

    And then there are the picture avatars. I guess they are less annoying then the canned ones that some sites come with, but for me, not much. I hear some people like them cuz they can remember individual players better with with unique pictures. Yeah, I guess I can buy that if they were real pictures, not these nutty ones that are just annoying. Who needs to see a picture of someones kid, really? Why do I want to see a picture of a BABY while playing poker? Who the heck am I, MR ROGERS??? Is this a poker room or ROMPER ROOM?????

    And here's another thing that really bugs me playing there... makes it almost impossible for me to play. The fact that the players are represented by those yellow circles, with or without pictures and weather somone is present at the table, or not .. even when nobody is in the seat, the seat is there an the yellow circle is there.... to me, it makes it VERY HARD to determine how many players are at the table and what the positions are, what position I am in, etc. It's almost as if you were in a live game, and after someone got eliminated, instead of leaving, they just sat there and mingled in their seat. How annoying would that be? How many misdeals ya think you would have???

    And what's with the YELLOW BUTTON?? It looks like someone urinated on it or something!!! Can't they just have a button that looks like a button? One that you can find? It's yellow, the layout is yellow, the seats and placeholders are yellow.. I can't even find the button half the time.

    Okay... do these things bother any of you? What are your takes on the different sites?

    Maybe its just me but i would consider anything that was on a screen two feet in front of me as being in front of me. Whether it was two inches to one side or the other wouldnt really change that for me. I just look at the middle of the screen and then angle my eyes just that little fraction of an inch to the side and I can see where I am. Usually I am the person with cards in front of me.

    But seriously it just takes time to get used to the different sites. It will only take a week or two of play to get used to the different ways that sites lay out their tables. Paradise used to drive me crazy but now its not so bad.

    If you go to options and untick images you will no longer have to put up with the yellow circles or player images at the tables. You will just be annoyed by blue rectangles!

    This guy must be playing on like an 80" monitor if it's really that big of a pain to find his cards.

    Seriously though, every site has it's little annoyances when you first start playing there, just find what you like, find what you don't, and make your decision from there.
