  9. to flat is to trap, to call is to chase...duh,, nice thread btw
  10. Flat with no hand in attempt to take pot away on a future street. Call with hand/draw that can win at showdown, or slowplay with monster.
  11. sigh. ok

a flat is always a call, but a call isnt always a flat

a flat is when someone raises/bets and you call

a call is everything else and includes flatting

yep yep this, haha took me a second to think about it tho tbh

  13. And what is it when you call and then turn it into a flat? After the fact flat maybe , but since a leopard cannot change its spots, it must stay a call. It could however be a wolf in sheep's clothing thereby disguising the fact that the call is really a flat. The concept I am having trouble with is the flat call. Is it different than an aggressive call?

Nice post we need more like this.
  14. Difference between a set and trips?

  15. it's funny how people made fun of the OP, yet like no one has actually stated the difference between a call and a flat.

a flat is a type of call. a flat call is when you call a bet or raise and there are others behind you yet to act. if you are closing the action it's just a normal 'call'.

disclaimer: no, i've never seen this actually written down anywhere, but colloquially this is how it's used.
